Okay, so Zelda has been MIA all afternoon. I'm blamind LazyScot, foremost. In the extremely unlikely event that she actually went to bed and slept, I will not apologize, in keeping with Full Contact Croquet Rule #6: There is no Rule #6.

You gave the green, jet-propelled superabsynthe fairy a mallet and told her to knock all the balls through the hoops in the middle of a fountain. She'll have got diluted and is busy re-distilling herself at this very moment.

Back to the game. I invoke rule 32, subsection iii para a.1, as amended by the London, Edinburgh and Cardiff convocation of 1327 and hereby reclaim playing rights in the presence of other players being present.

Turnham Green.

damned ! does that mean patricia wins and the game is over *already* ? let's start again !!! um... Barking ! (do i get a bonus for an answer which can also be used to describe the overwhelming majority of participants in the lounge ? i believe i do... i'll cite the pertinent rule if you want me to.)

i'm sticking to Barking, as is explicitly allowed under rule 79, subsection xi para q.i., special contingency plan 8.

I'm sticking to Rule 6 [begins walking around cracking people over the back of the head until Adrian snatches the cricket bat from my hands, shakes his finger at me in my "I've warned you about such behaviour before" style, and then whips the bat's peaked reverse side across my kneecaps].

I win.

I mean, as long as we're inventing rules, rule 876: Taylor always wins.

Now, what am I going to do with all of these balls?

Yes, but I bet, in your depression, you take no comfort in it, so we all just pragmatically take the "silver medallist" as the winner.

Phew!
People (or similar)!
I went away for a while to read on my Reader (as you do), and take my pills (long story), and do some work (occasionally all 3 at the same time, although don't tell my employers as they don't seem to have caught on yet) and then when I came back not only did I notice that my wings were gone, but nobody seemed to be in the threads I was in anymore, and I hadn't had any chocolate in ages.
But it seems I've found you! Do I get a prize? Not that I'm not content with the mangoes of course, because obviously I am. (Thank you Adrian!)
I was never very good at croquet as a child, but then we only had a plastic set and the north-east winds tended to disrupt play. I definitely recommend heavier balls and sturdier hoops and mallets.
However plastic skittles are fun, can highly recommend them.

I was going to ask, assuming it was involved, "How's your feet/toes?", but I just had a quick search and see that the big month is in September.

Anyway...

...

[awkward]

...

...umm...how's your feet? Mine are wrapped in ugg boots and nice and toasty-warm.

Cheers,
Marc

I'm wearing my purple socks with sparkly fairies on (true story) and my MBT's.
Very good of you to ask.
Glad your feet are toasty and well.
(I always think Ugg's should have a speaker in the sole like you get for teddy bears that go 'Ugg' or variations thereof when you walk. It would either prove endlessly entertaining or ridiculously annoying (or a combination of both, depending on your mood))

You said that ("true story") about your toe op', so from now on you don't need to ever say it to me because I'm just going to assume that everything you post is true. Conversely, you can assume that everything I post is made-up (or at least only true within the confines of my own mind).

"Endlessly entertaining" or "ridiculously annoying" - it sounds like a win-win situation to me.

Cheers,
Marc
PS. I had to look up MBT's (Masai Barefoot Technology?). They look nifty!

Well, I've had mine since about December: I don't fall over as much as I used to and the outer side of the heel has barely rubbed away at all (I would usually have to get 'normal' shoes re-heeled after a couple of months to help prevent aforementioned falling over).
I find them quite comfy (they're actually about the only shoes I can really wear at this point, but I'm an exceptional case), and you can amuse yourself (and others) by rocking backwards and forwards at bus stops.
They're fairly pricey, so in typical fashion there's already a cheap imitation available in the form of Fit Flops, but I'm a bit wary of such 'bargains' and anyway, it would be difficult to wear my sparkly fairy socks with them and my feet would get cold.
