I just finished an ebook I thought would never come out: The Mouse That Roared by Leonard Wibberley.
The estate has now published all five of the Mouse/Grand Fenwick series, including the ultra-scarce fifth book (which hadn't even been alternatively scanned). They are also in the process of turning the rest of Mr. Wibberely's books into ebooks. Although, it does look like they are using the alternatively scanned ebooks as the basis of the officially published ebooks. |

I'm surprised no one has mentioned most of Isaac Asimov's books, which are not available as eBooks in the UK.
Another one is Koestler's Darkness at Noon. Most of his other books are available but not that one, probably his most famous. Nearly all of James Michener's books. |

I quit maintaining a real PC.
All I have now is an Asus Vivotab Note 8 (8 inch windows tablet) and it would be difficult to do real work on such a small screen with my poor eyesight. My eyesight is why I went that route - I don't have double vision in my right eye if things are really close. I could get someone else to code things in, but it feels like I am losing my ability to be independent when I do things like that. I guess it's too much ego or fear of aging. |

I thought I'd *never* see one of my favorite childhood books in ebook form unless I scanned it myself, it had become so rare that paperback copies, when seen, might command $65-70 on eBay. Hardcover copies were running around $130 & up ... for ex-library. And you'd only see a tiny handful of copies auctioned per year at that.
One of those stories where those who were lucky enough to have grown up with it wanted to be able to read it with their kids and were willing to pay for the privilege. The author's son held the copyright, but he struggled to find someone to publish it, primarily I suspect because he wanted it to come out again in print form. Fortunately, he finally, after years of trying, found a publisher to work with and "Sinbad and Me" by Kin Platt is back in both hardcopy and ebook form! If you enjoy a fun juvenile mystery with a boy and a dog, treasure, crooks, pirates, a ghost and a healthy dose of architecture and rare coins, this might be for you! I'm totally thrilled, already have the hardcover, and will buy an ebook copy soon as well. I hope we all live to see our favorites released as ebooks! |

My favorite childhood series of books will probably never become ebooks, though at least the first book has been reprinted. They were all out of print for a long time. I would love my kids to read these books. The older one is too old to appreciate them at this point, but the younger one might like them.

I would love to have Emergence (SF), by David Palmer, in Kindle format. It doesn't even seem to be in print any more. I wish he'd get the rights back, and self-publish. There's also a sequel, published as a serial in Analog. I can't remember the title.

From by own childhood: Ferdinand the Bull
Hard to find in any form. I remember being particularly delighted by the drawings. It was made, fairly faithfully I think, into a cartoon by Disney. |

Katherine Kurtz's books are finially available as preorders. But at $8 when I already have the paper versions I'm going to pass for now.
David Eddings books have disappeared (again). Still no Heron Carvic mysteries. |

I've had the first three Katherine Kurtz Deryni books for some time. Wish the rest would be released. Originally, they were $4.99 each.
