Well, yes and no. My wife's Aura still has issues with a couple of uSD cards but so do my Aura HD and the daughter's Glo. It seems that cards that worked reliably still work reliably and cards that worked with some firmware releases and not with others are still flakey.

One other thing to be cautious about is the number of counterfeit uSD cards being sold. I checked with the manufacturer (Kingston) about a couple of 32GB uSD cards I had purchased, ran a couple of test and came to the conclusion that both of them are counterfeits. Both were purchased at the same time from a local computer shop. H2TestW says that despite being marked as Kingston 32GB class 10 cards and showing a capacity of 29.8GB, their real capacity is ~4GB.

Haven't updated my Aura HD since firmware 2.10 as doing so would delete my beloved full screen capabilities that those evil developers won't ever truly implement.

Hello all,

My Aura HD updated today when I was trying to sync, but did not restart after the update. It's stuck on the five squares, which keep cycling from white to black. Has anybody had this problem, and is there anything I might try short of a factory reset? I have a lot of annotations which it would be a bit of a disaster to lose.

How long has it been?

Once in a while I run into this. Just do a pin hole reset and it should restart.

Trying that sent it into a factory reset. Blast and damnation. I guess something went really wrong in the firmware update.

The powering off and on didn't fix it per se but it has seemed to fix itself later. Thanks. I haven't tried to duplicate this so it is anecdotal but it seems like I have had an uptick in unwanted restarts when using the web browser. Maybe the websites that have a lot of scripts or a lot of memory usage overwhelm the device. Who knows.

Off course, losing the "back from sleep" functionality requires to disallow "sleep" mode...
