Picking up the Palace Job, gotta pick the fantasy. Love Scott Lynch's Gentleman Bastards so maybe it'll be alright.

Suffering succotash! Amazon changed the Kindle for Samsung selections sometime during the day. The corrected/updated posts are listed immediately below, in blue. Those posted earlier (as of 8:00 AM Eastern time), but later replaced, are listed at the bottom of this post, in green; I'll leave them up so you can see what the posters below me were commenting on.

IMMEDIATELY BELOW ARE THE UPDATED SELECTIONS, IN BLUE.

They're here!

AND UPDATED SINCE THE EARLIER SELECTION THAT AMAZON CHANGED LATER IN THE DAY (see the content below, labelled "defunct").

These are the February 2016 Samsung Book Deals selections from the Kindle store (in the order in which Amazon presented them). Click on Samsung Book Deals to learn how this works.

The Gravy Train
by David Lender
  • Genre(s): Mystery, Thriller & Suspense; Crime Fiction; Financial Fiction; Legal Fiction
  • Kindle list price: $3.99
Quote:
Finn Keane is a novice investment banker who helps an aging Chairman try to buy his company back, while the ruthless Wall Street sharks who drove it into bankruptcy do all they can to stop them so the Wall Streeters can carve it up for themselves.

Excerpts from Trojan Horse, Bull Street and Vaccine Nation, David Lender's other thrillers, follow the text of The Gravy Train.
Breakdown: A Love Story
by Katherine Amt Hanna
  • Genre(s): Science Fiction & Fantasy; Post-Apocalyptic Fiction; Literature & Fiction; Family Life
  • Kindle list price: $3.99
Quote:
An influenza plague decimates humanity...

A man loses his wife and baby daughter...

Six years after a pandemic devastates the human population, former rock star Chris Price finally makes it from New York to Britain to reunite with his brother. His passage leaves him scarred, in body and mind, by exposure to humankind at its most desperate and dangerous. But another ordeal awaits him beyond the urban ruins, in an idyllic country refuge where Chris meets a woman, Pauline, who is largely untouched by the world’s horrors. Together, Chris and Pauline undertake the most difficult facet of Chris’s journey: confronting grief, violence, and the man Chris has become. They will discover whether the human spirit is capable of surviving and loving again in this darker, harder world.
Voyage of the Heart
by Soraya Lane
  • Genre(s): Literature & Fiction; Historical Fiction; Women's Fiction; Sagas
  • Kindle list price: $3.99
Quote:
From bestselling author Soraya Lane comes a story of friendship, love, and heartbreak at the end of World War II.

1945: Along with hundreds of other war brides, Betty, Madeline, Alice, and June set sail for New York to be with the men they love.

In the days they spend at sea, the four young women become firm friends and vow to stay in touch no matter what their new lives bring.

Life in a new country comes with many challenges, but Betty, Madeline, Alice, and June didn’t move half way across the world to give up without a fight. As their love is tested, the one thing they can count on is the friendship they forged while crossing the Atlantic.

Revised edition: Previously published as The War Bride Club, this edition of Voyage of the Heart includes editorial revisions.
Blane's Turn (The Kathleen Turner Series)
by Tiffany Snow
  • Genre(s): Romance; Mystery & Suspense; Romantic Suspense; Contemporary
  • Kindle list price: $4.99
Quote:
Blane Kirk is a Navy SEAL-turned-attorney with old money and an even older pedigree. High powered and aggressive, he plays the field, changing women as often as he changes his ties—but he’s had no complaints so far. He has only two rules: don’t date employees, and don’t get emotionally involved. These are rules he can easily live by…until his runner, an employee in his law firm named Kathleen Turner, does an unexpected face-plant into his lap.

Kathleen’s too young and innocent for Blane, and much too vulnerable. After her friend is murdered, Blane knows she could be next—and he knows that keeping her alive means keeping her close to him. Kathleen’s like no woman he’s ever met, and protecting her could be the one thing to change his life forever. He may be able to keep her safe from the killer…but can he keep her safe from himself?

Blane’s Turn is a companion novel to No Turning Back, Book One in The Kathleen Turner Series.

Revised edition: This edition of Blane's Turn includes editorial revisions.

Listed below, in green, are the Kindle for Samsung Selections listed by Amazon as of 8:00 AM Eastern Time. Even while posting them, I'd noted that the selections and pricing differed significantly from the usual Kindle for Samsung fare, and wondered what was going on. As it turns out (as fellow MobileReaders have posted below) Amazon changed (i.e., corrected) the lineup later in the day.

DEFUNCT ---------------------------------------------------------------
DEFUNCT
They're here!

These are the February 2016 Samsung Book Deals selections from the Kindle store (in the order in which Amazon presented them). Click on Samsung Book Deals to learn how this works.

***NOTE: This month's batch is unusual in several ways: one selection is non-fiction (typically all four are fiction), one is in the public domain, and all four have an original list price of only $0.99.***

Beginning at Moses: A Guide to Finding Christ in the Old Testament Kindle Edition

by Michael P. V. Barrett
  • Genre(s): Non-fiction / Religion & Spirituality > Christian Books & Bibles > Christian Living > Spiritual Growth
  • Kindle list price: $.99
Quote:
Although not in every line and perhaps not on every page, the message of Christ overshadows the entire Old Testament. Finding Christ is the key that both unlocks and locks in the message of the whole Word of God. Jesus Christ is God's final, perfect, incomparable Word. Beginning at Moses seeks to follow the example of Christ Himself Who, "beginning at Moses and all the prophets," expounded from all the Scripture the things concerning Himself.

The Old Curiosity Shop

by Charles Dickens
  • Genre(s): Literature & Fiction > Classics, Family Life
  • Kindle list price: $.99
Quote:
Charles Dickens’s sentimental classic about little Nell and her grandfather—a tale that has moved readers for generations

Little Nell Trent, as beautiful as she is virtuous, lives with her grandfather in his curiosity shop. The only ambition of Nell’s loving caretaker is to provide the young girl with a better life. But after attempting to gamble his way out of poverty, the old man finds himself indebted to the wicked and deformed moneylender Daniel Quilp. Thrust into a life of begging on the street, Nell and her grandfather are pursued by villains at every turn—but they never lose the compassion and generosity in their hearts.

With a diverse cast of characters that ranges from scoundrels and vagrants to the truly pure of heart, The Old Curiosity Shop shows Dickens at his best.

This is odd. I have 4 different books as the February 2016 deals:

The Gravy Train by David Lender
Breakdown: A Love Story by Katherine Amt Hanna
Voyage of the Heart by Soraya Lane
Blane's Turn by Tiffany Snow

I usually have the same selections as are posted here. I wonder what's going on.

I haven't checked (it seems to take a couple of days for my phone to update the selections) but these make more sense to me; I've noticed the books are always Kindle Unlimited titles and none of the ones in the first post were KU eligible. These all are though.

Same for me, they probably showed an incorrect list at first and Froide did the post before they corrected it. Until Froide can fix the post, here's the basic summaries of each:

The Gravy train by David Lender
Quote:

Thanks, everyone, for pointing out Amazon's big switcheroo. I've updated the original post to reflect the corrected listing.

I'd been debating whether to buy Beginning at Moses: A Guide to Finding Christ in the Old Testament or the Leighann Dobbs Cozy Mystery Collection, and figured I had a month to decide. Snooze, you lose. I wonder what would have happened after Amazon switched the lineup, if I'd bought either of those titles while it was still listed as a Kindle for Samsung selection.
