I dislike that you cannot sort titles at Google and that Amazon has so many other authors mixed in when you search by author name, but I am too lazy to make links for them all
No not a romance but it has romantic elements in it. Very good prices for someone who wants to give it to try. I paid $5 a piece for mine. if Three to Get Deadly ever goes on sale at Amazon that's the one I need. I have a B&N copy and it doesn't whispersync. I'm also waiting on 20 and 21 to come down in price.

I read at least the first few back when they were first published. I liked them enough to buy the rest, but I had a huge TBR pile, and I never got around to reading them before I got rid of my dead-tree book collection in my last move.

What I remember is they were "futuristics". If you're not familiar with the term: to me, it means a romance writer tries to write science fiction. The focus is the romance, the SF is the backdrop (and in many futuristics, the backdrop is like a bad movie set )

I differentiate futuristics from sci-fi romance by the amount of science fiction versus romance. Linnea Sinclair writes sci-fi romance. Catherine Spangler writes futuristics. Early Jayne Ann Krentz/Amanda Glass wrote some futuristics. And Susan Grant's stuff I would put somewhere in between, depending on the story.

I'm not saying they're not good...as I said above, I enjoyed them enough to buy the whole series back when. It depends on your opinion of futuristics, which I why I tried to explain the difference.

Would you categorize JD Robb's In Death series as a futuristic (although it's also got mystery elements as well)?

I agree. I love futuristics.

C.J. Barry Un series would SciFi because it happens while earth is in the 90s. So would Dara Joy's Matrix series. I think that the big difference is the world and time the story is set in.

I loved the world-building in the JD Robb series so I guess I like futuristics
I started reading The Outsider last night. Wow, this is one that I'm buying in paper for my keeper shelf Unfortunately Penelope Williamson's books seem to unavailable for lending via scribd or the library (except in paper).

Emerald Desire (Emerald #1) by Lynette Vinet (Leisure 1985)

Quote:
As wild and beautiful as the Irish countryside, Dera Brennan gives herself to the Irish rebel leader, Quint Flannery, with delirious abandon. But Quint is not one to be tied down by the shackles of love.

To spite her faithless lover, Dera impulsively marries the haughty and imperious Lord Avery Fairfax, Quint's notorious enemy. Yet even after Avery is murdered and Quint is suspected of the heinous deed, Dera's heart yearns again for the love and passion she shared with Quint.

Can old hurts be forgiven and forgotten in time for Quint and Dera to reclaim their emerald desire?

Sure if you can find a replacement screen and open it up and connect it properly....I think for most people buying a replacement device would be a lot easier.

Call Kindle Customer Service. If it is still under warranty, they may replace it at no charge. If no warranty, they may offer you another one at a reduced cost. Be sure you talk to Kindle Customer Service and not Amazon Customer Service.

I guess it's worth a shot, but since it's my stupid fault, it may not be worth the shipping costs. I'll call them later on and see, but thank you for the heads up about Kindle vs Amazon Cust. Service.

Read this series a while back and found it to be pretty good Romantic Suspense. For right now the first book is free..

Concrete Evidence (Evidence Series Book 1) by Rachel Grant
Amazon US | Kobo | Smashwords
Quote:
A year ago she lost everything. Now she wants revenge...

Accused of stealing artifacts from a five-hundred-year-old shipwreck, underwater archaeologist Erica Kesling is determined to clear her name. She's concealed her past and taken a job certain to give her access to the buyer of the missing antiquities. She's finally closing in on her goal when she's distracted by a sexy, charismatic intern who makes her want something other than revenge.

But Lee Scott is no intern. He's looking for the lead conspirator in an international artifact smuggling scheme, and Erica is his prime suspect. He'll do whatever it takes to win her trust and get her to reveal her secrets, even seduce her.

As Erica and Lee struggle to conceal their real agendas, the one thing they can't hide is the attraction that burns hot between them. When Erica's quest puts her life in jeopardy, Lee must choose between old loyalties and a woman he never expected to fall for.
