For me, tagging the genre is sufficient because I can always sort by tags. I also think having all the books in "one" place makes it easier to look for books to read. I do have another library I put the books that I don't plan to reread any time soon and that are not on my Sony. By default some of my unread books are there because I tried to keep all of an author's work in one library or the other. One trick I have found to make it easier to tell at a glance which library I am in is that I have different custom columns as the first column in my Vault library (date archived) and the Warehouse library (where purchased). This way I am supposed to not accidentally add a book to the wrong one, though that's been known to still happen ![]() |

I only add 2-3 books at a time. I never keep more than 5 books on my kindle.
I was thinking about creating the following Romance Cookbooks Mystery / Thriller / Adventure General Fiction / Classics General Non Fiction Young Adult |

In answer to your question soliciting ideas for genres, KyBunnies, perhaps you might find it useful to look at this "Subjects" (i.e., genres) list, from Barnes&Noble, found in the left-hand column and halfway down the page. Last edited by Froide; 05-08-2014 at 09:02 PM. |

Erotica PNR/UF Historical/contemp/suspense romance M/M SF/Zombies/YA Kids books Due to some authors writing in different genres, there are some books that are not in the "right" library. But I can find what I am looking for very quickly. I also have a custom genre column, which I use to quickly group historical romance, or paranormal historical romance, within a library. OMG!!!! Karen Robards has released more of her backlist! That's four new backlist titles including Tiger's Eye!!!! If you haven't read that one the hero is the crime lord of London and it's awesome!
![]() Green eyes is also on eBook I've waited forever to get my hands on this book. The other is Loving Julia and To Love a Man. All $2.99. I haven't checked Kobo to see if they got them. http://www.amazon.com/Karen-Robards/...date-desc-rank |

Amazon UK's Kindle Daily Deal today is a shed-load of "romantic suspense" novels (whatever they may be) by authors such as Trish McCallan, Kendra Elliot, and several others.

I use a 2-tier keyword of "Genre" and "Keyword" to sort books within type libraries. I also find the "Read" column helpful, using 'toRead" or "toBuy", for books that I haven't read (or bought, using the null Add Book feature), and r1-r5 for ratings when I have read them. I also have a "onDevice" column to keep track of which device(s) has the books. Also, the "Source" column keeps track of retailers and whether free or paid. There are other columns for Comments, Series, Awards, Pub_Type, etc The libraries are: Amazon: also marked as Free or Paid (I copy these into other libraries as well) Para_SciFi_Fan (Paranormal, Science Fiction and Fantasy) Romance (Contemporary and Historical) General (Mainstream lit, Fiction + Non-fiction, Classics, Comics, Cookbooks, etc) Using Calibre has made my whole reading experience so much better! When I feel like a certain type of book, I can load a Kindle up with 5-6 books and just read away ![]() Plus, I avoid purchasing duplicates. Last edited by rgeorg; 05-09-2014 at 02:56 AM. |

This has been discussed before and approved by various moderators in the past that this is a deals and discussions thread. It's always been that way and Calibre discussions take place all the time. Are you saying that's now not the case for some reason?

This is the "Deals, Freebies, and Resources" forum. Discussions on how to use Calibre belong in the Calibre forum.
Thanks. |
