Ohhh, this looks good. I am always desperate to find some sci fi-ish stuff and especially colony. This seems like a bit of both, sci fi and fantasy? I'll be reading the sample. I need a change of scenery after my scottish time travel.

Now to check out the sales that were posted, especially the historical romance ones Blossom already owns.

I did see it, and then I didn't get it because I thought I had most of them as freebies. I just checked and I only have about half of them, so I just grabbed it at Kobo for $.50. So thank you for posting it! Lord knows you can never have enough rocker books!

Wow, that looks good! I love sci-fi/futuristic and good ones are pretty uncommon. The hero is a lizard man! That sounds really weird, but there was another book with an alien hero that worked for me, so I can see this working, too. The other book was Shadow Fires by Catherine Spangler.

I was pretty good this week - until today! Here's what I've bought through 9 AM this morning. (The day is still young!)

The Rose Garden by Susanna Kearsley $1.99
All The Queen's Men by Linda Howard $2.82
The first three Weekday Brides books by Catherine Bybee $2.97 The audiobooks are available through Whispersync for .99, also. They're narrated by Tanya Eby and I'm very tempted to pick them all up at Audible, too.
Stripped by Edie Harris $.99 This is on Dear Author's daily deals today and she looks like she's got some interesting books out, both historical and contemporary. All of them look highly rated. I thought I'd start out with the cheapest one.

Oh, and I bought Kresley Cole's Endless Knight from Audible for $11.73. Hmm, maybe I haven't been as good as I thought. I checked out Poison Princess from the library on CD and I really enjoyed it, hopefully I'll like this one, too.

No. But Heat by R. Lee Smith has been on my wish list for almost 2 years. It was also a Jane@DA rec. I just can't bring myself to spend $6.50 when I've already got 5 years of reading material on my TBR. If the book ever was available at Kobo I'd grab it in an instant. Looking forward to reading Jane's review on the new one.

ID:	112914I'm so proud of my restraint the last couple of weeks. Really trying hard to cut out the impulse buys. It's easier when I look at the list of 100 or so books in my TBR pile that are all high priority reads. How the heck can I have so many that I want to read, all of them right now? Well, you guys know, but whatever. Here's my list of purchases and reads this week.

Book buys:
Hopeless For You – Hayden Hill
Found In You – Laurelin Paige
Beneath the Burn – Pam Godwin
Good – S. Walden
Rockstar Romance Boxed Set
Worth the Fight – Vi Keeland

Books Read this week and my rating:
Scornfully Yours – Pamela Ann = 3.0
Crave – Monica Murphy = 3.5
Surviving Raine – Shay Savage = 4.5
Cage – Harper Sloan = 3.75
Hopeless – Colleen Hoover = 5 [traumatic] stars
Façade – Nyrae Dawn = 4.5 – Blossom, you asked me about this one, I loved it as much if not more than Charade.

Just a warning. I haven't read any of her books yet (a few are on my list), but from what I understand they often contain non-consensual sex/rape. Just thought I should point that out as I know a lot of people who try and avoid books that contain that and at least one review at Amazon indicates this one does.

There are reviews of a couple of her earlier books, Heat & The Scholomance on DA for anyone interested.

This is not about bargain ebooks, but just to say that I'm not mostly gone from this forum because I don't like it any longer - no way!- , but because I have a new boss and quite a bit of my work is being restructured. It's a good process, if rather challenging at times, and I am happy with the situation. It's just that it eats up time without end.

And next to no time on the computer (except for work) equals very little time to browse mobileread, even less to write actual posts or look up bargains. Sorry! I hope I will be able to be more active again in a few months' time.

Just wanted to say hello to everyone and let you know!

I was pretty good this week (for me ). 9 books for $13.08.
Barring any crazy sales this should be it until new releases come out at the end of the month . . . I mean what's left to buy?

Yes! Jane@DA says "He's an alien but he has a snout, three fingers, but apparently a gladiator's body." IDK about that part, but we'll see when I get to it.

She's normally good at mentioning triggers and she didn't say anything about that. I'll ask her about it. If it's happening in the 'world' generally I can stomach my way past it but not if it's happening between the main characters

I'm 1/3 through the sample (which is over 45,000 words long!) and it's good so far; steady pacing but quite interesting. The ship the heroine and her sister were on just crash-landed somewhere (this is not a spoiler ) and my anxiety level is increasing in tandem with hers

Only three purchases this week for a total of $2.86.

Other than Goodnight Tweetheart (4 stars), which I completed the past Sunday, I only read one book in the past week, Stir Me Up (YA romance; 5 stars), which was not a purchase but an eARC. I enjoyed them both.

Spoiler:
(I did a write-up on both Goodnight Tweetheart and Stir Me Up, if anyone is interested.
