I don't remember the title I read 1st, but it was on a Franklin Ebookman device. It had a dot matrix like text and gobbled AA batteries up for breakfast. If I was lucky I'd get 4 hrs of use before having to replace them with fresh rechargables.

I'm not sure what book I read first but it was either a Miss Marple story or something by Jayne Ann Krentz (romance). It was on a Sony 500 in August 2007.

The first book I read on an ereader was Death by Black Hole: And Other Cosmic Quandaries by Neil deGrasse Tyson. That was on a Kindle 2. The first book I read on my new Paperwhite was Mortality by Christopher Hitchens.

I read the Lord of the Rings novels on a Palm III. Good thing my eyes were already ruined. I jumped on the Sony 500 when it came out and never looked back. --MH |

It was "The Puppet Masters" by Robert A. Heinlein. I read it on a Rocket eBook. This was also the first science fiction book I read as a teenager.

I remember it very well. I couldn't wait to get my Sony 505 and I read Kim Stanley Robinson's Mars trilogy start to finish in about 6 days.

I'm another Palm user, though I can't remember which one. I was going through my Gothic-novel phase, thanks to an enthousiastic teacher, and I wanted to read Shirley Jackson's novel but they were impossible to get (quickly). The year before a friend gave me the URL of Gutenberg and I gave it a try and did not only find Shirley Jackson's novels, but also many other classics, for free! On my Sony 601 I first read a couple of freebies that you could download from the Sony website after purchasing their reader. |

I think mine was Joe Abercrombie's First Law Trilogy. I think I pirated the first one since he was a new author that I didn't want to take the risk on and I'd just taken a hit buying my ereader. I bought all the rest. Great books btw.

Your avatar looks vertically stretched. I've noticed it for a long time, you should squish it back in place before it warps away. | |

I believe my first was Hero by Perry Moore (RIP). I read it on my HTC Touch. I had ordered my first Kindle and was preparing myself for the experience.
