As I said above, my first attempt with the new beta brooked mixed results - duplicated books, but all collections showing properly.

The second time I sent a batch of books I did not have the duplication problem (though the original books that were duplicated have remained duplicated). The collections from the previous batch were still there and new books were added to them, but all the new collections are empty.

ETA: Now I'm getting an error:

Update 1:

As I was testing with lots of connecting and disconnecting the SD card showed up once. After disconnecting and reconnecting I got the following error message multiple times and the SD card no longer shows up.

In addition when looking at the Device view the 4 books that I just added no longer show up. After manually removing these 4 books I no longer get this error.

This behavior is consistant with every other ereader Sony has previously sold.

Just for fun you might want to remove the SD card and test again. This data might give Kolenka more information to work with.
Thanks for replying dwanthny,

I know about that behavior but that is not what is happening. The duplicate collection is on the same drive.

Update 2:

OK It seems as though the only Collection that is being duplicated is "Science Fiction". I thought perhaps that it was a multiple word tag/collection, but I tried several and "Science Fiction" was the only one that consistently duplicates. And I did check that there is not a duplicate collection on the SD card.

Also I have not been able to get the SD card to be recognized again by Calibre... it just happened one time.

Same, multiple copies, but otherwise working okay.

I'm curious. did any or all of your testing start with a clean slate of zero books/collections on the ereader?

No... I have about 130 books and 7 Collections in internal memory and 45 books and 1 Collection on the SD card.

OK I removed all the books from my internal memory and all the Collections. Then disconnected. Ensured the device was empty except for the Users Guide.

Reconnected and copied 84 books back to the Reader. Disconnected. The T1 removed all the books from the Collections, but left the Collections (although they were all empty).

Reconnected and added a few more books. Disconnected and again the T1 removed these from the Collections. Leaving all empty Collections. This time however there were no duplicate Collections created.

The original books were in a directory on the internal memory under the calibre directory and then sub-directories by author. They were created by the first beta. The new ones are in the default directory. Therefore I suspect that this different directory locations may have something to do with the duplicate Collections that were occurring.

One other weirdness, when I reconnected just now about 40 books are checked as Main in the Library view and these same books are checked as In Library in the Device view. That leaves about 47 books that are also displayed in the Device view and are on the T1, but are not shown as matching in the Device or Library views within Calibre.

So now it looks like the three main bugs are:
1. Why is the SD card not showing up in Calibre?
2. Why is the T1 erasing the books in the Collections after disconnecting from the computer (while leaving the books and empty Collections)?
3. Why are some of the books not matching between the Library and Device views but are on the T1 and in the Device view?

HTH

I can't speak to the collections issues, but the SD card not showing is because no one has posted the debug device output for the T1 on windows with an SD card added. Post tht and I'll add support for th SD card to the driver.

For a busy guy you're still more active than most.

Thanks again for all the work you've put into the Calibre project.

Under Preferences - Sending books to devices what do you have Metadata Management set to? How do the Metadata management settings affect sending the books to the T-1?

It's set to Manual Management. Haven't tested it with any other settings.

With all of the older Sony models the Automatic setting was great. If the T-1 ever gets integrated to that level I'll consider buying one.

Just sent 5 more books back to the T1 that were already on it, but did not show as matched between the Library and Device views. It created the new Collections. Emptied them after disconnect from PC. Left those empty Collections, then removed all the previous empty Collections, leaving only these newly added empty collections.
