The original version of Heir to the Empire is out now; the annotated version isn't out until September, day and date with the print release.

Edit: 'Cept I don't see them on Googlebooks yet. Boo. I have patience. I already have them all...

I purchased the whole thrawn trilogy last night and it was downloaded to my ipad this morning. The 20th anniversary edition isn't released until Sep., but the 7.99 original version was released yesterday with all the others. No need to wait!!

Yes, it would appear so. I, too (Netherlands), can only buy a very select few (and they're much more expensive than for US buyers). None of my old faves from the old Bantam books releases are available. I really am getting annoyed with this. Amazon allows us to buy the amazon.com Kindle, but I for one cannot buy most of the books I want to read.
Good thing I mostly use the Kindle for fanfic reading, but that doesn't make it any less annoying. I understand it's not amazon's fault, but still...

I've never read a SW-book, but I'm going to try Timothy Zahn's Allegiance.
But since I can't get it from Amazon I bought it from BooksonBoard.

Not sure how amazon would react if you say you're living in the US. The sony store will allow you to buy, booksonboard too, but it's epub, so you would need de-drm and conversion...

ST-One, try Timothy Zahn's Heir to the Empire instead - that first trilogy he wrote is brilliant, the best you'll find under the Star Wars banner. The trilogy is Heir to the Empire, Dark Force Rising, and The Last Command.

Ah, that much-talked-about "Thrawn"-trilogy - I have the Wiki-page bookmarked
I wanted to read a single book first, to test the waters; I buy far to many book-series that I'll probably never get around to read since I'm trying to catch up on the Perry Rhodan-series (published weekly since 1961)

Bought two of the books.
Why in hell do publishers think they need to use overlarge margins ? And a larger margin right than left ?

I can't speak for why they used the overlarge margins, unless it's an artifact of their InDesign -> ePub conversion. But the dozen books I bought seem to have equal left/right margins; which one doesn't?

the last prophecy and unifying force.
I think all the books have this. Maybe it just the nook enforcing margins.

If that's a file from InDesign then InDesign is crap....

Why blame the program... it only does what it's told to... blame the user who doesn't know how to handle the program correctly...

What program?!? The end user uses whatever software is on their reader. They have NO control over the program used to create the ebook.

So yeah, EowynCarter is CORRECT in calling it crap. There is nothing she can do about it unless she frees her books and then reconverts them to her specifications. But that is illegal [not immoral though].

So, should she become part of the publishing industry before she can complain about a poor product. I hope that would satisfy your stringent anti-complaining biases.
