Interesting thread.

I'm a bit paranoid by nature. I have never posted a picture of myself on any forum, but there is a pic or two floating around somewhere, connected to my husband's various sites. So instead, I use the avatars of all my cousins

As for my real name... it's here. And I'm really no different irl than I am on these boards, or on my website. All different aspects of the same me. I have a lot of integrity, and I prefer to stay true to myself. Plus it's a lot easier to keep my story straight that way....

To be honest i started this thread because i was curious, mainly because I myself have always felt rather shy. I did have my ugly mug up for awhile and i have yet to have any stalkers or anything come of it.

I'm glad people have been responding to this thread, I find it very interesting to hear every one else give their reasons.

I designed my own avatar, and quite like the anonymity that they provide. It's a bit like reading, where you can then let your imagination decide what all the players look like, and their personalities, gleaning clues from what they write/say, rather than prejudging based on what they really look like.
