You're thinking of Listopia, which is different. Of course the things that are most popular win, duh. But for the best books they've narrowed it down quite a bit, the nominees in each category are good choices.

My mistake, I thought the focus group was on the Nook based on that original sentence of yours.

I've no doubt there are craptastic ebooks all over the marketplace. To be honest the best ones I've seen are here at MR.

I don't think Sony needs much marketing for the Reader right now. With the screen production still limited to single manufacturer, they are already struggling to meet what demand is there.

Oh, no problem!

And I'm not surprised MR is producing the best "product." We're the ones doing the reading on these devices, and have the experience to know what we like and don't like. It's too bad the "professional" book producers aren't on a forum like this.
