Till last year I had an iLiad ereader, which I loved. I tinkered with it and read the developers forum like an exciting novel.
One day it swallowed the wrong book ( or I experimented too much) and died on me.
And also the company iRex went bankrupt and the --already non existing customerservice-----disappeared completely. ###########!

I took care of it. No….no Kindlehack for me…..not even for screensavers….careful with my Kindle….didn't even look at developers forum.
All my books I sorted and sorted in nice collections: 2000 in 4 different languages; read and unread; what a wealth.
Last week the trouble began with Anna Karenina: My Kindle choked on it………………I deleted Anna and got another one from Feedbooks.
From that day on my Kindle was doomed. It's internal storage went on boiling to 3,2 GB when it was 1,9 GB the previous day.
I tried to save it by rebooting, setting to factory default, calling Amazon from overseas, but ………………all in vain.

AARRRGGGHHHH!!!! I'm starting to hate Christmas already. It all started when we went to a family birthday party and Chris's grandmother asked me if we would be attending the family Christmas Eve celebration. Since Christmas Eve falls on a Friday, and I work retail, the answer was "sorry, but we can't, I have to work that night.". So, Chris's grandmother, with the best intentions in the world, then said, "Well, then, we'll just do Christmas at Thanksgiving!" sounding delighted, since we've already committed to family Thanksgiving at Chris's sister's house.
This would have been fine, except for two things. One: I REALLY wanted to get Chris's mom an ebook reader this year. But I can't decide on which to get her, or whether to just give her my Sony 600, and spend my unexpected windfall on a 950 for me.
and...Two: Normally we have at least three more weeks of income before Christmas gift budgeting is done (yes, I'm a last minute shopper). So.... I guess it's gift cards for his parents, and heaven only knows what for his grandparents, and siblings and nieces and nephew are just going to have to wait and have their gifts mailed later... or delivered slightly after Christmas.

it is terribly awkward, but you could say "gee folks we just are not ready! we can celebrate all you want, but it is unfair to put that pressure on us so terribly quickly"

No, I'll be getting my replacement in january. Pooh suggested the devellopersforum, so that's what I consulted.
I just ordered a new Oberoncover, after I had some Chardonnay last night: the black Wild Roses.

I don't do Xmas! Last year we had a family get together (I don't see my folks much) around that time. They respect my not doing Xmas and we all get on fine. Doesn't mean I won't pop a cracker or have glass of cheer.
