Thanks! I picked up The Oatmeal's book, which I've had my eye on for a while, for a whopping $0.87.

Contest codes & Harlequin

I've noticed in the past that Kobo's contest and other promo codes tended to work on books published by Harlequin, but that does not seem to be the case anymore.

Has anyone else noticed this? I have a list of books I want but the coupon code is only working on things that cost around $3 or less. Is this a new Harlequin policy?

Yes, Harlequin is now part of Harper Collins so it's no longer coupon eligible (in the US, at least).

I can use coupons on Harlequin books here in Canada. Though they did raise the prices somewhat.

Since the prices are the same with the publisher directly and with Kobo, I joined Harlequin's reward program to earn free ebooks through them. Using today's BOGO sale I already redeemed a free ebook and am halfway to a second.

Frankly, Kobo needs to start listening to customers, the lack of basic amenities (wish list) is really telling.

Well, Kobo seems to have a new promo, in AU and NZ anyway ...... I've received emails that contain 15% discount codes for books that I 'looked at'.

There may be say 5 or so ebooks that I've looked at and there will be a 15% code next to those that are discount eligible. (No codes next to non discount eligible ebooks).

I've tested the codes and they appear to work on any discount eligible ebooks. But I'm not interested in a 15% off discount on AU and NZ priced ebooks (because they're rarely under $10 a book).

Whilst this is a decent enough promo (well the promo could be much better if the code was higher than 15% considering we can't play the Contest), my problem is that the same few ebooks keep re-appearing because they're the books that I test codes on - that is to see if a code is working, or what the value of the code is etc.

So, my suggestion is that you look at quite a few of the books you want in the next few days and see if you also get these emails. As I mentioned though, 15% is way too low to do anything much with!

I was so tempted to do the buy one get one free thing today too, but resisted. I wish Kobo had a wishlist too!

I just add everything to my library and then move it to trash. And THAT's my wish list.
