Wish I'd kept my shorts on. I changed to trousers to sit out in the gazebo and read. Turns out I had to roll my pants legs up because it was so warm. Only 72°, but I'm a bit of a hotbox anyway.

Temps here hit the mid-60s! I was working on a storm door replacement in my shirt, no jacket required, and was able to leave the front door open. The skies were lightly overcast and there's no rain forecast for a few days. The next week is supposed to be (way!) above average, with tomorrow possibly getting to 70!

We will pay for this. I don't know if there are official records, but it seems to me that winters that start out unseasonably warm tend to have ice storms where they might otherwise have had snowstorms.

But the weather does seem to be causing problems for my sinuses.

Cold front moved in last night - hard freezes for the weekend nights predicted - than back in the 70's F by Xmas day .... sigh

54F with torrential rain. Aerial flood and flash flood warnings in effect. An excellent day to stay in, start the crock pot, and read.

Hellish drive in to work ... surface streets flooded ... torrential rain that seemed like the gods were spraying a fire hose on my windshield .... and yet some idiot passed me on a double yellow line stretch b/c I was driving the speed limit ....

We had a light drizzle last night and it's still damp outside. It's also overcast and has been dark all day. Temps reached the low 60s and they'll be going up for a couple more days.

The weather has been causing big problems for my sinuses and knees!

EDIT: Add "amazingly dense evening fog" to my description of the weather!

Endless torrential rain .... Durham is under a flash flood warning ... streets are being barricaded off ... storm drains overwhelmed ... my lawn is an expanse of standing water ... temps in the 70's ... spooky weather ...

I was just thinking today about replacing the speed limit signs near my daughter's house with signs reading, "Make up your own damn speed limit. Everyone else does."

Thanks to torrential downpours, Midlothian to Richmond was a fun drive today, too.

And now it's 11:30 PM, one-half hour before the start of Christmas Eve, and I'm sitting outside my daughter's house in the car with the windows rolled down because her house is so hot. It's currently 69° F in the car. In the house I was sweating. I told her to wake me at 6 in the morning. No sense getting a shower before we get ready to leave the house, as I'll just sweat and need another.

Record breaking temps in the upper 70's F forecast for Xmas Eve & Day ... more rain ... I think my lawn is dissolving.

Last night I took a walk during a break in the rain ... I kept hearing a tinkling sound like running water but there wasn't a lot of water in the street gutter ... then I shone my flashlight onto the lawns - in my neighborhood the lawns were covered with sheets of water that were flowing! I was hearing running water from the lawns! Later I came to a storm drain in a dip in the street - it looked like a small waterfall ... way too much rain ... during the last 2 days we were getting periods of 3-4" per hour of rain!

It's a little cooler out there today -- the highs were in the 40s -- but otherwise it was a perfect replay. Everything is still soaked from last night's rain, the day was very dark under thick overcast, and now the fog is rolling in.

My sinuses are weeping (literally and figuratively) and my knees ache.
