49F on my deck this morning!!! It is absolute heaven.

ETA: Our local weather man just tweeted that we actually broke a low temp record set in 1985 as the low got down to 45F last night.

My wife was scheduled to spend this weekend in North Carolina with friends. They spoke last night and decided to reschedule. Hurricane Joaquin immediately changed course.

Of course, we're still expecting several inches of rain.

Most of NC is expected to be flooded by Sunday .... roads will be challenging ... so if your wife is not familiar with areas prone to flooding - probably a wise decision - even without a hurricane. Not to mention trees going down today and tonight with the wind gusts ....

Roads are already a bit challenging in Tidewater and about to get more so. The good news is that the mid-day drivers, at least, seem to be making allowances for the rain and resulting puddles on the street. We still have active flood warnings for the entire area.
