Massive thunderstorms last night - lots of lightning! Monsoon rains.

I didn't think it would rain here. Went to Sam's and it was pouring down when I got out. It's a good thing there was a sheltered bench outside the store. Between that and the Kindle app on my phone, I didn't mind a bit.

It raining right now and prediction is that that will continue for most of the day. It has also cooled from Saturdays 36C to 19C today (bliss!). On Saturday temperatures are promised to reach 27C again

Hot & sticky! The weather forecasters are taunting us by showing a cold front that is approaching, but won't be able to displace the high pressure ridge controlling our weather .... indefinitely .... Oh joy! Summer in NC!

Today, after a couple of very pleasant temperatures between 16C and 23C temperatures are going to rise to 28C. Luckily, tomorrow they will drop to 21C again.

Hot, hot, and HOT with a side of gusting winds. 94F at 11am with totally clear skies. Winds gusting between 20-30 mph.

Ahh, the old "convection oven" effect.

Nice summer day, up here. It got to the mid-90s, it was very sunny, and the humidity has been climbing for the past few days -- but, fairly typical July weather. I'll miss it next February.

Nice morning when I awoke at 7:00. The skies were overcast, but the temperature was a comfortable 70°F. Took Norton for a short bicycle ride but the dummy jumped out of the basket and tumbled heels over head onto the asphalt. Got him back in but he insisted on standing up the whole way and back. It was as stable as riding with a bowling ball in the basket. I'm going to get a bungee net for the basket before I try this again.

No rain forecast, but the temperature today is suppose to hit 90. Again and for once the highs are only predicted to be in the lower 80s.

Arggh!! About Norton. Maybe that's why those Toto baskets are fashioned so deep, rather than shallow and wide.
Doggy car seats sometimes have you attach their harness to the seat strap, closely enough that they know they don't have jumping room? You'd have to rig up something, but it's worth thinking about. Maybe. Good luck! I'm glad Norton wasn't hurt (at least, you don't mention that he was....)
