I do wonder though...
This entire situation is so incredibly ridiculous that there must be some other agenda going on to which we are not aware. Could this have been a "Come get the free baseball tickets" game the police use to round up large groups of scofflaws?

I really have difficulty believing that a company such as Amazon wouldn't know before hand the results of offering such a book publicly. While the company is there to make money, they also understand customer outlook, and consider such before making any dramatic moves, especially one as emotionally charged as this issue.

Just what is going on? I wonder...

Certainly there could be more, but perhaps not. Look at the outrage over Lolita that continues even today...the Banning of books in libraries and schools....

Amazon's own terms of service allow them to practice censorship as they see fit, which is why I was rolling my eyes yesterday when they used their anti-censorship stance to defend not pulling the book.

As is true of any merchant. They can choose what that wish to sell or reject that which they don't. It really isn't censorship, just a choice of what business to be in, what to sell.
