Okay, my turn.

After years of "meaning to" in 2019 I deliberately set about losing weight through diet and exercise. It took a while to turn the ship around, but I'm currently down a bit more than 25 pounds since then. By my count I'd be happy if I lost 30 more and then kept it off. That would get me down to my college weight.

91kg for me, my ideal is around 85kg. I lift, so that adds some healthy weight... but I definitely have to shave off the damage from the delightful mince pies and roast potatoes I consumed.

One low-carb meal per day and loads of walking for a few weeks should do it.

Started my diet in August. So far have lost a little over 10kg and 12cm off my waist. Aiming to lose another 3 kg.

Achieved by a complete change of diet. Eating out is limited to once, maybe twice a week, otherwise all meals are now homemade from fresh ingredients.
Early morning workouts with jogging 30min on my treadmill followed by another 40min with weights, 6x per week and one rest day.
The big requirement is mentally supressing the appetite and taste buds. It took time to stop the cravings for sweets and fried foods.

For the first time I can ever remember, I am starting to see a six pack on my abs.

I just hope this time around I can keep the weight off. Last time I tried, I lost 8 kg, then within a 7-8 months I had put on 9kg.

Same for me. Strict discipline is essential.

Realising whilst you can ease of a little later on, the diet is "for life" is where most folks fail.

Christmas is a holiday from work and my diet though, then back to both.

I've decided I'm going to get down to brass tacks again in terms of diet for two weeks and then weigh myself. Two weeks should undo the holiday damage. I hope. But in any case, I'll know where I stand.

I'm rather looking forward to eating healthily again; the hard part is going to be getting my appetite back in check.

So far so good, but I did well in the first month last year too. I need to keep going for at least six months.

After bouncing around a bit, I'm back down to my pre-holiday weight in mid-November. I'd like to lose a couple more pounds while I'm in the groove; I'm going to try for a dry February, which should help. (I didn't do dry January.)

I noticed yesterday that I weigh six pounds less than the weight on my driver's license!

I'm back up to 80kg at the start of 2025.

This year I'm going to try using Nutracheck to track what I'm eating. We shall see if that helps at all.

I've never been on a diet. But I'm a fussy eater and have never been the type who eats a lot. Also, I don't much like sweets, except for chocolate.

I have been overweight - for a few years during my mother's dementia, when I ate pretty unhealthily (lots of fries, potato chips and the like). By now I've lost all the weight I gained then (some 15kg) and am back to my usual weight (64kg at the moment). I hope I'll be able to stay this way, because I'm no longer young and losing weight will get harder the older you are.

I don't eat all that much less than I did during my "fat" years, but I do eat somewhat healthier stuff (for example, boiled potatoes instead of fries and other greasy snacks). Occasionally I still gorge myself on potato chips, but not as often as I did back then.

Not in my case.

In 2003 my doctors suggested I'd be dead within 5 years if I didn't change my ways.

So, I changed my diet to near vegetarian, zeroed the booze and fags (no withdrawal symptoms to either), and separated from my partner of ~20 years (amicably, still good friends).

Still alive in my 80th year and at least 15Kg lighter.
