Bloody work!

Was told I had to be in Germany for a meeting with our new Managing Director first thing on Monday morning so gave up Sunday evening at home to fly over. Got to the meeting and the MD insisted that it was carried out in German (normally, meetings with both German and UK attendees are conducted in English). This meant that I sat there like a spare part for two hours and didn't really need to be there at all

That sucks. I had a similar situation once, only I didn't have to travel to another country so I just left.

I'm having a 'work sucks' day as well. I found out last week that the deadline for my project is next monday. Which means I would have to finish my report tomorrow night (4-day-weekend coming up) or just keep working the whole weekend. You would think my boss would tell me about something as important as an upcoming deadline but noooooo.

Luckily they gave me 2 extra weeks. So I have about 12 days to analyze all my data (180 variables) and interpret them and write a decent report. And oh yeah, I still have other projects to take care of. So I'll still be working this weekend. I keep reminding myself that I love my job, but it's getting harder and harder to convince myself this is true.

"Blitzkrieg" doesn't even begin to describe what I did out on the test track today...
It was as if I had never even been on a motorcycle before.

I almost stalled right at the starting gate. I almost hit a pylon. I even fell off the bridge!
(walks off shaking his head in amazement.)

I think I'll go eat some worms.

Thank God there is another Wednesday next week.
