Detect Kindle Previewer versions up to 3.66.0.

Retain the original language when converting books in languages that are unsupported by the Kindle Previewer. This will hopefully allow dictionary lookup if a dictionary for the proper language is present on the device.

Allow conversion of Romanian and Czech language books.

EDIT: Okay I removed attribute 'href' and it worked.
Anyhow, it shouldn't have failed for such a small thing

I'm glad you were able to work around the problem.

Amazon's Kindle Previewer is a tool intended for use by publishers and isn't very tolerant of problems in the source file. The plugin tries to work around some of the more common issues that cause the Previewer to fail, but there are so many ways that an EPUB can be messed up that it is impossible to catch them all. In this case garbled file:// URLs triggered the internal error.

Thanks, it’s working perfectly with my Czech books now, including dictionary lookup.

please allow conversion of Bengali books also...It's not supported by amazon officially.

I will make the change to the plugin to allow Bengali to be accepted for KFX conversion but I do not know whether the resulting book will display properly since it is not a supported language. It will be a couple of weeks until the next plugin release.

somehow kindle previewer does not work for me i get this conversion failure error every time i try to load a book "Kindle Previewer could not preview this book due to a conversion failure. Please refer to the Conversion Log for more details." i tried many books which Shelley-Frankenstein file you shared is one of them i even tried different computers still the same my question is does anyone have the same situation and can i use the online previewer for converting to kfx i am very used to the enhanced typesetting and i want to enable the enhanced typesetting

One thing that seems to cause problems with the Previewer is Windows being set to an unsupported language. If you share more information about your environment it might help with diagnosing the problem.

Font looks ok when I try to convert a Bengali epub book to kfx format using KFX Output.
I used this command: ebook-convert input.epub output.kfx --language English

But if I run without the language flag, it fails.

I'm trying to prevent inconsistencies with the bottom margin when converting to KFX. I understand this can be corrected by using the following CSS when converting:

body, div, h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6, p {orphans: 1 !important; widows: 1 !important;}

Despite this, I'm still seeing additional space at the bottom of one page, then not on the next, somewhat arbitrarily. This isn't a problem I've encountered with AZW3 that seems to display all text in uniform.

I assume that your kindle is using firmware version 5.12.3 or later and that you added the CSS to the "Extra CSS" in the "Styling" tab before conversion. If so I do not know what could be causing this.

If you post a conversion log I will take a look at it for any sign of what is happening.

You can do it by using the calibre ebook-convert CLI instead of the CLI of this plugin.
