I understand that for 200 bucks, you shouldn't get a Kindle that freezes, but at least freezing can be fixed with a software update.

Too bad all of the Voyage's features aren't so easy to fix!

It's that "stiff upper lip" thing...

I've only had one Kindle that freezes and that's my PW1, which is a story all its own. Sigh. Such a love/hate relationship, Orwell and I.

If we have a problem and someone who could fix it says 'How is everything?' we smile brightly and say 'Fine, thanks.' Once the potential fixer departs the scene we turn to our friend/family/colleague (basically anyone who'll listen) and complain loud and long till we've burned out our indignation ... which can take a very long time. There's a reason why the Australians have always called us 'whinging Poms'.

I'm not one of them. I took a H2O back to Argos last week as I thought the light was too yellow and the next day I took a voyage back for having a totally uneven front light. Same person give me both refunds, asked me if I wanted to try another voyage, I politely declined.

The most helpful review on Amazon.de is one star and complains about constant freezes and restarts. Many other complaints about freezes and restarts there as well. At this moment, the device has 3.5/5 stars.

This totally threw me off during my semester abroad in Nottingham. Everybody would say fine and continue walking. Americans do that a lot as well. See, nobody ever explained the cultural difference to me in English class, not one of my many teachers, that "How are you" is mostly a greeting and not to be taken at face value! I had been in the US for a summer during highschool and when I got back to Germany, I told everyone how eveybody was so nice and really cared about how I was doing: you know, people in stores, baggers, etc. I kind of figured that one out for myself when i started teaching German, and the fact that I had to teach my students to really stop and answer, as well as teach them various answers other than fine
