My day, so far:

Got up and found one of my cats (Sammy) had gunk running out of her eye - chase cat, triage eye, make appointment to take cat into vet this afternoon.

Late to work.

First question at work: "The paper tray has broken off the fax machine. What should we do?"
I suggest gluing it back on. Faces light up, smiles -- "Oh, we could glue it back on!"

Second question: "The printer in the back room has stopped printing and is blinking."
Me: What is on the display?
Them: "Out of paper."
Me: Maybe you should put some paper into the little drawer marked Paper Tray?
Them: "Oh. Will that make it print my report now?"

With this kind of start, the visit to the vet should be really fun today.
Another week of cat-wrestling to get eye drops in no doubt. Can't wait!

Yes, I am lucky, but I like to complain It's true, I love my job most of the time, and this particular contract is looking good so far, and I know I won't be bored for very long. And besides, I get paid very well for not doing much for a time. So yes, I am lucky
