After an unseasonably cool weekend (cloudy, rain, highs in the 70ish F range), we are back to the 80s today. Still much milder than it normally is this time of year. My handy Farmer's Almanac tells me that September is supposed to be 5 degrees cooler than average!

We're having a paradoxical cold front move through tonight - lots of storms & rain right now & tonight ... then temps shoot back up into the high 80's F - but with markedly lowered humidity levels. So seasonably hot but bearable - b/c of the low humidity .... yeah, right ...

Light rains in the morning building to some pretty impressive downpours in the evening.

Wednesday should start out wet but turn sunny in the afternoon. (Typing with crossed fingers.)

It's gorgeous today - sunny, but very breezy with (indeed!) low humidity.

The pressure cooker returns this weekend - high temps & humidity levels.

Wednesday's (and to a lesser extent, Thursday's) torrential rains and subsequent flooding, sufficiently severe to trigger storm alerts, float cars, close roadways and airport runways, and flood basements, has given way to a gorgeous sunny Friday characterized by lovely ocean-scented air and lush greenery.

Temps in the low 80s with a gentle breeze and moderate humidity, but I experienced it from a minivan on the highway, so not as fine a day as it might have been.

I haven't set foot outside all day. I have been cooking the weeks meals because I have to start teaching my first class of the fall tomorrow, and the AC has been my best friend. It is still 87F out with a 57% humidity if my weather station is accurate.
