Hello, my Kobo Glo HD has been stuck on the home screen for ages. I have replaced the battery, let it charge. Tried the power off, hard reset (with pin at USB connection). Nothing seems to work.

Last resort would be to try to reflash the SD card. Could I bother someone here for the correct image? Thanks a bunch in advance!

I'm not sure what "hard reset (with pin at USB connection)" is. The manual factory reset for the Glo HD does not use either the pinhole reset button or the need the USB to be connected. You should try the last method on https://wiki.mobileread.com/wiki/Kobo_Reset:_Glo_HD. But, I expect the image will be needed.

Thank you so much for your help.

Apparently I was a bit unclear in my first message. I followed all the steps on the wiki page. I was trying to refer to the 'Performing a manual factory reset'. I also tried the 'Performing a manual factory reset when the device doesn't boot to the "dancing squares"'. This also didn't work, but I must admit that I perhaps got the tapping of the bottom corners of the screen wrong. I do not know if I should tap multiple times in rapid succession, or tap and hold, until the screen changes. Neither approach worked for me.

I'll try with the support you offered in your PM. Thanks again!

Hi, i have now a no reactive Kobo Glo HD after a firmware upgrade proposed by the device. I replaced the SD cad but would now need an sd image, as the copy i did from the original SD card didn't solve the issue

Hi David. Indeed first tried the different Factory Reset methods but none helped. With your image i got it back in operation, so thanks a lot for your help. I am just facing a last challenge after i tried also to update the serial number to the original one. What Hex editor are you using to do so. I used HxD on Win 10 but getting a write error when writing the modified img to the sd . Thank you

After 6 years of loyal service my Glo HD has been giving me random resets and shutdowns. I've tried resetting but alas. As part of a general overhaul I ordered both a new battery and another SD-card. Would love a link to the image so my Kobo can hopefully tackle another 6 years
