Yes! I had *many* problems downloading in the beginning - It would take me up to 10 tries to get a large audiobook down. Fortunately, these days I have no trouble at all, so they must have fixed their backend. So go ahead and try them again..

I didn't. My audiobooks have bred like rabbits this year, so to speak, and the last thing I need is additional credits at Downpour. I should buy shorter books for the time being, at least until my audio TBR has shrunk a bit.

I am quite glad that the Audible deals aren't available for German customers, so I am never tempted by them. But those Whispersync deals are always a temptation, even if they are more expensive where I live...

To answer FizzyWater's question: I have never had any problems downloading from Downpour, and I am on the opposite side of the Atlantic. Their site is as fast for me as Audible.

It certainly isn't about "tame" vampires. I am currently listening to the Audible version read by a full cast. Highly recommended. You can get it as a Whispersync deal if you "buy" the free Kindle ebook first.
