What meteorological phenomenon (phenomena) affects you this day ?

Every last bit of the snow we got last night—and it was a considerable dumping; at least 3"-4" I'd say by the time it was over—is gone. The rain came and washed it all away. It's currently 43° F outside (6° C).

All of the snow we got yesterday [I'm estimating 6-8"] is ..... still with us - covered with a layer of sleet, then glazed with freezing rain. We get storm 2 today at noon - another 'wintry mix' ....

I'm staying home in my jammies today.

We have at least a foot, with more due tonight when we get the backhand from this Nor'easter.

I can't find my hedges.


UPDATE: We have 16 inches of new snow -- I measured at the level part at the base of our driveway. You know, the part I had already shovelled. Many times.

It's still hot and dry here.

However, there was one interesting meteorological phenomenon observed this week: a peculiar S-shaped formation off the coast on the weather radar:

Some attributed it to the RottNess Monster, others to the sharks under threat of cull threatening to fight back, and some to our new giant sea serpent overlords. But the DoD ended up confirming that it was actually from a military exercise.

We ended up with 10" total. When I went to clean the cars today, i sliced the bit on top down the middle. 6" of snow, a bout an inch of ice in the middle, and 4 more inches on top of that. Today was our first day above freezing and our first day out of the house since Tuesday. The south simply does not know how to function in this mess.

The plow doesn't get to our end of the dead end street very often. By the time they did last night they were plowing up several inches of slush from the day's rain on top of maybe 16 inches of snow. That all got mixed together and piled about three to four feet high along the curb. And, as temperatures dropped, the long wall changed from a slushy mix ... to solid ice. My snow shovel laughed when I tried to wedge it in.

We're supposed to get a little more snow tomorrow.

Then, by the end of the week, temps are supposed to get to the fifties. Which will be a whole 'nother problem.

Today ... rain, then 30 - 40 mph wind gusts .... then cold ....

Today, overcast and a high temp of about 28 degrees. Tomorrow is expected to be sunny with a high temp of about 32 degrees.

Tomorrow night ... the next snow starts, continues through Tuesday, and changes to sleet or freezing rain before it stops sometime on Wednesday. Whoopee!

It's still spring weather here, but as it's almost March I think it's safe to say that winter passed us by this year.

Sunny, gusty winds, melting snow ....

Yesterday was a sunny day Sunny from dawn til sunset. Not a drop of rain. The real stuff.
Of course, the rain is expected again this afternoon and in the coming days but not as much as before and without the gusty (pesky) winds. I foresee another flood alert anytime soon, though

At this point I've near forgotten what rain is. Our next four days are 37, 36, 34, 35, and relentlessly sunny with hot strong easterly winds. I feel sorry for the firies; things can go south fast in these conditions like they did in the hills a few weeks ago. A couple of places in the next council over from us are smouldering away already.
