Oh dear...I talked to the building caretaker about it, and she says that the former tenants from that apartment (about 8 years ago, before I moved here) would dump fish heads and guts down the drain, which would back up into the bathtub. I guess I'm glad the current folks are vegans.

The plumbing in my apartment building is a little wonky. Mostly it is just noisy, but functions properly. Other times, not so much.

My upstairs neighbors are into the raw food diet so they spend a lot of time chopping fruit and vegetables and running things through the food processor. As long as they aren't splitting coconuts while I'm trying to sleep, the noise doesn't bother me.

I wish they wouldn't dump their kitchen scraps down the drain, because when the plumbing backs up, it wells up in my bathtub. It's better than having the upstairs toilet backing up into my bathtub, but it's still annoying and disgusting.

Soak for half an hour and dinner is ready!

I had Vita Brits and milk with honey on top. Gormay!!!

When I went to use the bathroom this morning, Norton followed me in and used my leg as a fire hydrant. That dog gets weirder every day.

It could be worse.

A friend of ours fostered an abandoned, pregnant female cat. She called the cat Snyder, and the surviving kitten J.D. (for Juvenile Delinquent).

Snyder and JD are now in a new home with friends who are a married couple in NJ. At last report, JD had developed a new and different habit. He likes to follow the husband into the bathroom, and stick his head into the stream when the guy pees.

I've seen all manner of odd cat behavior over the years, but a liking for "golden showers" is a new one.

Norton is just marking his property, Tom.
Petrush has been doing that ever since my sister got her dog. He pees on her dog's toys, bed, and, if it is sleeping, my sister's dog. He aims for the face.
If you stop washing that leg for a while, Norton will probably stop.

I had to look that up; Oz has some interesting food products. Wikipedia tells me that the company who makes those is called Sanitarium Health Food Company. Should I assume that "sanitarium" means something different in Oz from what it means in the States?
