'Real' rye bread is unavailable here too. There is a bread that is 'sold' called rye bread, but it's just ordinary white sandwich bread with multi-grains mixed into the dough before baking.

Don't know which one to open next.

Go for the 'Royal Blend.' I'll bet a dollar it turns out to be your favorite of them all! But with Fortunum & Mason, each will be delicious! It's just a question of which is the MOST delicious!

If I understand it correctly, they call it wholemeal bread here. It is still a regular wheat just less refined. Surely better than white bread, but nowhere close to the real rye bread.

I did one of my other foolish things.

I was making coffee after lunch. Nespresso. The girls were still at the table. When I did mine in a small table glass, I got an idea. I asked to the little one.
Do you want to taste it? I mean the coffee?
She came over all enthusiastic.
Watch out, it is bitter. Take a very little sip. Just taste it.
She did.
Do you like it?
She said yes. Do you want one? She said yes. So I brewed her one deca, in a glass like the one we had, and gave it to her. She took it at the table. I said. Drink it up.
She answered pointedly. I'll drink it in my own good time.

After, I saw her outside with the glass half empty, stirring things in it. I asked her and she confirmed that she did not like our coffee. Yet.

She likes roibos though. Plain, no sugar no nothing. She calls it kirikou's tea.

Wu Yi Rock Tea - Rou Gui (The Chinese Tea Company)
Good oolong. Very similar to TeaSmith's Wuyi Dark Rock. Better? Worse? Don't know yet. I think I will have to make to cups, one for me another for my better half and compare them side by side.

I have one real drinking glass (a Dewar's rocks glass), a set of wine glasses (for Whites), several coffee mugs, a set of tea cups (with saucers, naturally) and a bunch of glass jars. Easy to see which beverages I put the most thought into.

I made an experiment.
Brewed two oolong teas.

Wu Yi Rock Rou Gui (The Chinese Tea Company)
Wu Yi Dark Rock (TeaSmith)

Both are very good oolong teas.
Dark Rock is tiny little bit more subtle. Its flavour and aroma are bit less intrusive, more delicate? Otherwise I don't feel much difference. Wifie liked Rock Rou Gui more than Dark Rock (she didn't know what tea she was drinking). I liked Dark Rock a bit more.
