You should listen to your doctor.
Try not eating for a week and see if the itch goes away.
If that doesn't work, try being someone else for a while.
If that fails, visit your doctor in the middle of the night and kick him until you feel better.

My A/C is on the blink. It's over 80 in the house and humid. I can't sleep and will have to miss work tonight to try to troubleshoot the system, but since I'm no expert on A/C systems, I'll probably end up calling my trusty repairman in the morning. It's an old York on it's last legs, and I'm afraid he'll tell me I have to bite the bullet and get a new one.

The heat's not coming on, either. I've been up in the attic to make sure the breaker's not tripped. Later, when it cools down a bit, I'm going back to make sure it's getting power.

My bet's on the heat pump outside; either the circuit board or the condenser.

had my PC on this morning for an hour, and then switched it off. as it went off it installed Windows updates.

switched it back on a few hours later and I get a "boot-error".

okay, I thought, disconnect the second hard drive, usually solves it.

oh no it doesn't ....


muttter mutter mutttter ....

puts in Windows Disc. PC switches on "configuring updates" .... half an hour later and it's okay ... but ....


AAARRRRGGGGHHHHHHhhhhhh! . no wonder I'm going grey !

Yes, all these "don't turn off your pc" and Installing updates on boot and .....
it's enough to make one move to linux....course it's got it's own issues as well..

problem was it looks as though the final installation phase was upsetting the boot !

I am assuming it's just me, and no-one else has been caught out

I've had mine freeze (or not boot up) a few times....not recently....an then shutdown and restart and works fine...

My biggest rant at the moment is USB -- it just doesn't seem ready for prime time -- at least not on this computer -- I have a bunch of usb devices (drives, wireless, droid, etc) and it is constantly losing, dropping, re-attaching connectivity. It's most annoying when it is the usb wireless internet connection!!!!
