cut all the frames and put them one on top of the other. Look through them against the proper light and you will see what happens when all the instances of time are collapsed in one space image.

Then just take one frame, the one in which you receive that nice check. Look at it from the side, till the image is collapsed in just a verical line on the right or the left. It resembles the full image but everything that was distributed along is now a just a line.

Everything is touching. Get the check and run.

It is not what actually happens but its representation. That's the key point.

I subscribe to Terry Pratchett's concept of time. He postulates the entire universe is destroyed in each instant, then recreated slightly differently in the next.

Sounds like an episode of the "Twilight Zone" (from one of the newer versions). In the episode the world is completely constructed for each minute and people travel from minute to minute. If you can't find something for a minute, its because the construction crew slipped up in one minute and then corrected it in the next minute.

That particular episode has often come to mind; it explains so much. It explains why, for example, I can't find my glasses on the desk the first time I look even though I know that's where I laid them. It even better explains why the second time I look, there they are, in plain sight, on the same desk. Obviously, the folks who construct the scenes for Reality, Inc. (or whatever they call it) do slip up from time to time.

This brings forth a disturbing thought: what if the entire world is simply a movie under the control of an unseen director. What if that unseen director is like Alfred Hitchcock, and he was given the job of keeping the world in a very paranoid state?

If I don't have my glasses on, I can't read anything. Perhaps that's why I find that Twilight Zone episode where the bookish bank teller becomes the last human on earth after being accidentally locked in a bank vault prior to an atomic blast so terrifying. It was cool when he discovered the intact library books, but when he broke his glasses ... oh! the humanity!

The result could be like the 1967 version of Casino Royale. It had five directors, and has David Niven as James Bond, Peter Sellers as James Bond, and Woody Allen as Jimmy Bond. It's a funny movie, but the different directors created a movie where the style jumps around quite a bit.
