[QUOTE=PKFFW;845512]Being in Australia, I know what a yewy is if anyone is still wondering. Think U-e and it might make it more obvious.

To put the word in context of "chuck a yewy or U-e" would still not help I dont think. I was strugling with that one as the spelling was putting me off.

Tadger - I have no idea!!!

I just thought U-e might give a more visual representation of what would be doing when "chucking a U-e"

A yewy here usually refers to a U-turn but we say "pulling a yewy". I don't know what throwing up has to do with a U-turn.

aw ! that's adorable. although it certainly won't help the collective masculine image.

The OED has the spelling "u-ey" as Australian slang, although it's current in Britain as well (for example, I say it!). It doesn't have the "yewy" spelling. The on-line urban dictionary has "u-ey" not "yewy" also.

It appears that Australians often chuck them, but I would recommend pulling them, personally.

Since then I've heard some colourful Aussie expressions like:

Flapping like a Queensland dunny door

Maybe someone should start a thread on colourful Aussie expressions and have us guess when they are used.
