My thanks to iRex for providing my Wife and I with an excellent excuse to have lunch together.

I have it, it charges and the display is intact.

The second generation e-ink panel is much better than the first generation unit in the Sony Librie. I am very impressed, but I also think I have OS 2.4. From Tribble's postings he seems to suggest I should enjoy it while I have it before upgrading to 2.5...

And I now understand the comment about making the iLiad square. That slant on the top does make is seem a bit like a device from the set of Tim Burton's Beetle Juice... but I personally like the jaunty attitude it projects.

It seems that European customers just got theirs to their doors without any UPS tracking, seeing as I got mine today also without any warning.

Received mine today and it is broken, a battery charge lasts only a few minutes.

Received mine yesterday :-) Great gadget, I love it. Charging works fine, had 2 dead pixels in the beginning but they are gone after refreshing the screen a few times and so everything is working fine. This morning I updated from System 2.4 directly to 2.6 without problems.

I'm using my iLiad with a 2GB USB memory stick from OCZ (OCZ Mini Kart 2GB). Works well... have to look for a case now :-D

Received mine today! I'm quite impressed by the general look and feel. Currently charging. Connected immediately to my wireless network, sssssmooooooooooth download and install of 2.6 firmware version... very VERY good until now!

It was here! It was UPS fault. I complained to iRex and they said UPS delivered yesterday but I was on vacation. They're wrong, what really happened is that my address and name have written accents and iRex has problems with character translation from Unicode, so they were hard to decypher. Nevertheless I phoned UPS and went to get the packet myself. Now it's home with daddy

Mine arrived 15 Aug without notice; the iRex shop said "will ship 15 Aug." That was fast

I had immense trouble downloading the update, since my wireless connection at home was secure. I finally went to the library at the school where I teach; it has an unsecured wireless connection, and I upgraded to 2.6 without any problems.

I have had my iLiad since the 14th. I know there was some talk on customs charges (here in the US). I just received a bill from UPS for about $20. Not much, but I wasn't extecting it.
