The power adapter is not an accessory for the 500, it is for the 505.

A lot of the other things Ectaco says can be for the 500 or the 505. Not all is applicable to the 505. But then again, I do think Ectaco got their facts wrong in some cases.



And saying they have unlimited titles available for the Jetbook is plain out and out BS. The way Ectaco compares the Jetbook to the 500 and/or 505 & K1 is just plain poor and whoever wrote the chart and approved it should have been fired.

if you really want to get technical about it the titles really are unlimited.

especially in terms of language. i read Russian and Spanish books on this device like it's my job.

do you know of any other device that supports Spanish, German, Russian, Polish, etc. texts?

we already discussed how the chart could have been made before the jetBook's release.

mind you the K2 and the DX weren't even out when the jetBook was released.

Calm down, it's not worth fighting over! I think there's enough information in this thread for anyone to make up their mind one way or the other. Aside from the marketing bias, I am just curious on what technical specs are inaccurate. So far it seems like the Sony color, unless there's another one I've missed.

Anyway, I went ahead and added the jetBook to the MR Wiki under 5" devices. Most of the information I used was from the jetBook's entry in the Wiki itself. Please let me know if anything is inaccurate and/or fix it for me! Thanks.

I wouldn't assume there's a history, and he's already expressed his reasons (bad chart, misleading "free" book marketing, no DRM support).

Jon, I respect your opinion, although I think you're being a little harsh with Ectaco. Are the entries in the MR Wiki satisfactory to you?

He read the chart about 500 model but all his comments about 505 model I can't find any explanation for it...

The Sonys. I can even read Arabic on mine (in reflowable PDF). The Hanlins are also very famous for their extensive language support. BTW, I'm not against the Jetbook. I came very close to buying one (unfortunately none of the BB&Bs between the Mason Dixon line and North Carolina have them in stock) before placing a preorder for the EZReader Pocket Pro.

Do not add the Jetbook to the e-INK matrix. There is an LCD matrix with the Jetbook already in it. If you want a matrix that contains an E-INK device and the Jetbook then create a new page. There is a page already comparing the Sony vs Cybook. Perhaps this could be used as a guide but a table is certainly ok as well.

Ouch, all that time spent for nothing! I wasn't meaning to intrude... the title of the page was "E-book Reader Matrix." I see now that it specifically states "e-ink" readers in the description. In my opinion, it would be fair to compare the jetBook alongside other current e-ink readers. It's an "E-book Reader" like any other.

CyBook Gen3 displays them just fine. You simply have to install the appropriate fonts on the machine (which I think is the case on the Jetbook, too, isn't it?)
