Actually, I just bought 7 books of the Dresden Files series. I already finished the first book, working on the second one.

At least the movie, if it makes it to North America, will have subtitles... The first book has gotten so much press lately here that I expect it will be out in paperback and the second one in hardcover some time this summer. Hopefully e-book as well!

Penguin Book of First World War Poetry, edited by George Walter. I have all these in p-book form, but liked the idea of having them all to hand. My first poetry collection on the 505, and it's not as natural as reading a novel. Nice to have though, and I think the way Walter has chosen to edit it is more of an issue than anything. Not really designed to dip in and out of, more to read as a progression of the stages of life for the poets. Will try reading it as such and report back!

Incidentally, still loving Rohinton Mistry's "A Fine Balance". Anyone who enjoyed Slumdog Millionaire at the cinema should give it a go. Long, but incredibly moving.

The last two Books I bough were

The Professor and the Madman: A Tale of Murder, Insanity, and the Making of the Oxford English Dictionary by Simon Winchester

and

Too Soon to Say Goodbye by Art Buchwald

I've already finished the first, as that was the book of the Month in Mobileread's book Club.

I'll be starting the second soon, as I've heard a lot of good stuff about Buchwald,

'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' by Stieg Larsson.

My grand-daughter read it, loved it, is now reading the follow-up 'Girl on Fire'.
As we seem to have the same tastes in books, thought that I would give it a read.

The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman. I read the excerpt and was intrigued by the unusual storyline and this book is nominated for the the Hugo Awards too! $9.99 on Amazon Kindle store. Also Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine and Reader's Digest.
Also have purchased and downloaded: The Lost City of Z, A Tale of the Amazon and rumored to be a potential Brad Pitt movie!

Also downloaded freebies from Feedbooks: Lord Jim and The Secret Agent (Joseph Conrad) plus The Red House Mystery (A.A.Milne). Hmmm, another freebie and Hugo Award nominee: Little Brother. Samples downloaded: In a Strange City, Max, The Alexander Cipher, and Anathem.

I am currently reading and enjoying Empress (Karen Miller) while was $1.00 on Amazon! This is a full size novel and I listen to it while driving to and from errands. I'm only 53% done so still a long way to go. A good read for sure!

There are a few books I want in the Fictionwise sale, including one which has been on my wish list for awhile and just dropped to 'paperback' price. But I have so much I haven't read yet. There will be another sale, right?

I bought Steamed, by Susan Conant and Jessica Conant-Park; Scratch the Surface by Susan Conant (I want to see if she does cats as well as she does dogs, and the answer so far, disappointingly, is no); and Cooking Up Murder by Miranda Bliss. That last one is the first in a new series for me, so I hope I like it.
I'm anxiously awaiting April 7th, when the new Jim Butcher Dresden book is set for release.

I just bought

The Idiot Girl and the Flaming Tantrum of Death
because someone here was reading it and I was irresistibly drawn to the title...seriously...hope it lives up to the first nine words.

I have that one pre-ordered, but I'm going to try to wait until I'm on vacation (April 11) to start reading it.

Since I finally read the "Alpha and Omega" short story by Patricia Briggs, I bought the "1st" one in the series, Cry Wolf.
