Anyone notice that custom screensavers put in .kobo/screensaver don't display after locking the screen while reading an Instapaper article? I only see my custom screensavers when opening a regular book. Disappointing.

Those of you who've been using this version for a while, are you still noticing a shorter battery life?
Any new features or improvements, aside from Instapaper? I don't use it at all and I don't know if it's worth upgrading just to have the latest version, haha. |

My battery seems ok for a heavily used four year old device (Libra 2). Instapaper is great but if you don't need it I can't really see any advantage in upgrading

I haven't noticed any change in battery life on my Clara BW. Still very good.

Updated on KL2 back in Aug. No issues until I used my 8bitdo Micro page turner. Turned wifi and BT off, but still had massive battery drain. Downgraded back to previous version. Not upgrading on ClaraBW and will keep wifi off. I use the turner more in the colder months so would prefer to keep things how they are over any Instapaper updates.

Neither Instapaper nor Pocket have a cover to be replaced by the screensaver.

I recharged it that night and did force reboot. So far the battery life is back to "normal" again. Only thing I can think of is unless I added some articles on Instapaper and I ran that fix images plugin.. Otherwise no change in usage. Either way, I'm glad after 2 days, battery seems normal for now. |

FTP Credentials
Hello everybody, I used to upload my files via ftp, but once I upgraded to 4.38 (I have a Libra 2) the credentials admin/admin don't seem to work anymore.
I've also tried root/empty, admin/empty, kobo/kobo, root/admin, root/root, empty/empty but I can't get in. Do we know the new credentials or a way to find them? Thank you so much in advance. |

So I somehow managed to solve it.
If anyone has the same problem, I had to enable SSH and then connect through it to the tablet using root as user. At that point it asked me to set a password of my choice and that will be the password to connect through FTP (user: root). Don't know if there's another method, but this is working and I'm happy with it. |

The unofficial patches for 4.38.23429 are available at the following URL. Not every patch works. But most do and (IMHO) the important ones work.

A quick question.
I had to do a complete reset of my Kobo Touch last night, and after Kobo Desktop had done its thing and installed 4.38.23429 I discovered that the device was in a permanent boot loop. I tried four times, all with the same result. So I've now gone back to the previous firmware, and almost everything is fixed - with one exception. What I need to know is whether it's possible to get the dictionaries installed without triggering an upgrade to 4.38.23429. That would obviously not be a good thing! Anyone with some good news for me? |
