True, the picture doesn't match the title of the listing. It is a non-touch. But that said...I have one and loved it. Used it for 5 years as my primary device. Mine was the 2nd release black one but I used it from 2014 (clearance old stock at a Staples store) all the way until I got an Oasis in 2019. And I still use it on and off to this day.

No, it's not objectively awful. I liked it back when I used it. It was my first ereader.

One problem with the NT is that because you are so used to a touch screen, you'll try to touch the screen and it won't work. It's also a lot harder to use (IMHO) then a touch screen model.

I have a Kindle Touch and even that is meh! But it's still better then the NT.

Back when I used mine, I was not all that used to touch screens. I didn't even have a smartphone then.

And I've never been a huge touchscreen fan. Don't really like them.

Hey folks, I updated an old mass download script to work with Amazon's current scheme. You can find it here:

I've only tested it on Linux, so no idea if it works in Windows PowerShell/CMD.

You can also specify ASINs to download.

agree to disagree. I suppose I don't mind a touch screen for UI stuff. But I love having physical page turn buttons. I went K1 to K3 to K4BNT to Oasis. And I didn't find the NT model hard to use at all. It never bothered me...and still doesn't when I use it...that there is no touch screen. Mostly I'm just going in to settings to turn airplane mode on and off though. Otherwise I'm just using the directional pad to go up and down my book list.

I did recently buy an inexpensive refurb paperwhite 5 and I do like it more than I expected even though it has no page turn buttons. But...I don't know what they did but fingerprints show SO much more than they do on my Oasis. I hate it. And apparently I used a contaminated microfiber cloth or something to wipe the fingerprints so within 5 days I managed to put a scratch on the screen of the paperwhite even though my 14 year old K3, 10 yr old K5, and 5 yr old Oasis are all pristine. No scratches at all on any of them. So I'm not impressed with the ppw5 screen.

But I suppose this is now getting way off topic! Oops!

To bring it back around...I guess I'm very glad I still have and use my K4BNT since download & transfer is going away!

Amazon discontinuing download and transfer
The message about discontinuing download and transfer just came up before I downloaded a book today.

I will be cancelling my pre-orders and buying from Kobo. I'll also be downloading as many books as I can from Amazon before February 25th.

When you login for first time on some new browser and have 2 factor auth enabled on your account (as you should) then it's the code Amazon sends you to authorize.

I think the script assumes you have 2 factor set up and if you do not, maybe just hit return and it will be able to keep going.
