My Kindles were always much fussier than the Kobos I've had since switching, has several that would only charge with the original cable. I current leave a 2-headed USB-A/C cable plugged in to my desktop pc for use with my Sage and Libra H2O, and have had no issues with other similar cables we keep in the car for charging the readers on the move

And, even you had had a USB-C cable, wouldn't there times when you want to charge both devices at once? I know that's the case with my microUSB eReaders. One cable won't do that.

I'll let you have the last word. I really don't get why getting a cable with your eReader this bugs you so much, but if it does it does.

Personally, I'm hoping devices keep shipping with their needed cables, like the (ahem) Clara 2E.

Maybe it will for you, but for people who need the cable, it would do the opposite. Needs extra packaging, separate inventory, more shipping, extra energy for pickup/shipping, ...

And even without the cable, I don't think the price would go down.

That's a strange statement to make considering how much the idea of there not being a cable bugs you. But, as I said before, I don't really care. I think it's something that should change, but, I don't expect it to any time soon. But, then maybe it will change as there were no charges with my recent phone purchases. I was surprised at that, but, happy about it.

I like this sound of this second generation Clara. I'm tempted to get it as back up to my Sage for times when smaller is more convenient. I slightly wish it has 32 GB of storage rather than 16 GB but it sounds a good upgrade for a smaller Kobo.

I need a new ebook reader that's tiny, like my teeny tiny hands. I already have other ebook readers that have larger screens.

I think it's sad that people with tiny hands are made fun of and feel ostraicized from athletic activities and made to feel inferior. We're just people.

When I fall asleep reading with my tiny hands, the ebook reader falls on my high forehead (see photo). This hurts.

Yup. Just like people with small wrists are limited in choices when it comes to diver watches.

Kobo Clara HD 2E. That's the forthcoming Kobo with a 6" screen (small these days).

...and THAT'S the thread I posted in, my boy - why, THIS thread!

But seriously: When I'm out and about on a Friday night drinking whisky, beer, and a pisco sour - all in one night, I might add - I want something I can carry with ease.

But the Clara HD 2E won't have a card slot and we don't know if the internal storage is a microSD card or not.

immaterial to my point of having up to 32GB of storage on my Aura 6" rather than the (if correct) 16GB on the new Clara.

It's very material. You were making it sound like the Clara HD 2E could be upgraded to add more storage.
