I'm just as confused about all this! That bin loader never worked for me, but that elf one does.

Want more confusion? According to one CPU checker, I have a Qualcomm 662. According to another, I have a 665.

Onyx, I like your devices, but working with them like this can be migraine-inducing!!!

I'll try soon to see if I can get my Windows VM to play nicely with your utility.

Well, since I don't have an Onyx thing with UFS to try and fix the GPT bug I went to work on my cell phone, a Moto E6 (MSM8940) and managed to get it into EDL mode, the hard way. There's only one loader for that and it turns up its nose at it after loading a bit of it.

I've gotten edl to work on my Mac and on my Ubuntu VM, but I've still gotten nowhere with my Windows 11 VM. I suspect that the VM part is one of the big obstacles. So - I can get my own boot.img as needed, but I may not be of much help on the Windows utility end of things, sad to say.

Well v3.2.1 dropped today... Sooner than anticipated. I'm eager to find out if the boot.img changed from V3.2. If so, I can use the patched one from Casandra. If not it's going to get interestimg or frustrating

3.2.1 hasn't dropped in the USA yet, it seems! Whenever it does, I'll learn how well Magisk survives the OTA (it should, in theory). If it doesn't, I'll learn how well my edl setup works on 3.2.1!

Edit: 3.2.1 just appeared as an update! Time to check this out!

The 3.2.1 update fails for me. I download it, click "update now", I see a message that the update file is being decrypted, then I get a message "Updated Failed". That ends the process. I've tried three times with the same result. It could be something on my device or it could be a glitch in the update file itself. Is anyone else able to update?

@downeaster59 Have you tried to decrypt the update yourself? I think they mentioned a lack of strings? Did you find them?

The strings can be found in /system/priv-app/OnyxOtaService/OnyxOtaService.apk
They are inside at /res/values/strings.xml, "settings", "upgrade", "local"

I let the update download and decrypt automatically as part of the stock update process. My device is rooted, but that hasn't been a problem before in receiving updates from Onyx. The strings are relevant only if I attempted to decrypt the update file manually.

@downeaster59 @Renate Will the firmware update on the BOOX just download it so I can pull it off the devices via USB first or does it automatically apply is? If former is the case I'll play around with it this weekend.
