Will it be compatible with any commercially available Stylus Pen? Or should I get Kobo's Stylus Pen?
Any information on this?

I know that there was some talk about it here, probably in the Elipsa thread. But I found this post on Reddit that says any stylus using Microsoft Pen Protocol should work. This supports what I recall reading here, as Wacom was specifically called out for not working on the Elipsa.

So I decided to reach out to Kobo with some questions:

Will Overdrive audiobooks work on the Libra 2/Sage - "At the moment only Kobo audiobooks work." which makes me think they may open this up at a later time. Also it's possible someone will figure out a method to work around this limitation.

Will the power cable be USBA/C or USBC/C - It'll be USB A - C

When will the power case for the Sage be released? Currently no ETA, keep checking the site, and social media

What size batter will be in the power case? The battery from the power case is 1200 mah

So some good, some not so good. But at least we have some more information to work on. I'm happy the power case is effectively doubling the Sage's battery, just wondering about weight and such. The cable bit is nice to know, but wasn't crucial, adapters exist whichever way they ended up going. The audiobooks thing is a bummer, for those with existing collections, and who wanted to use overdrives audiobooks.

I've tried cheap alternate covers, they always have something that makes them a "no go" and waste of money. The Kobo cases feel good in my hands. And seem to hold up well.

i also use stands instead of relying on the cover to be folded into a stand. third party cover designers should come out with covers that attached magnetically like apple has been doing. the kobo sage cover also attaches magnetically (ala original oasis method). however. the device does not have to be designed with magnetic attachments for magnetic covers to be used. third party manufacturers just have to create a case where the back snaps on to the device and the front cover would attach via magnets to the side of the back cover. but sadly, i've never seen this from third party manufacturers for any ereader thus far.

In general, no. There have been reports of one or two non-Kobo styluses working but nothing official. I have the Elipsa and the stylus is one of the nicest I have used (including a Lamy). Kobo's stylus is specifically designed to work with their devices, providing battery status directly on the reader and nibs designed for the surface texture of their displays.

Unless there is a way to remove the DRM from Overdrive audiobooks, or they don't have DRM, I doubt that we will be able to sideload them. But, there will probably be a way to sideload audiobooks. That needs some experimenting when someone gets the devices. I am not sure if it will be officially supported, but, I'm pretty sure there will be a way.

I’m pretty sure there’s a way. I’ve never looked into it since I don’t use audiobooks. I just knew people here have wondered.

For what it’s worth for others, Kobo is pretty responsive on social media. I messaged them at 2am, and had a response at 7:40am. I’m assuming their social media people are in Canada which really makes that 6hr delay smaller what with sleep and such. So if you have questions I’d ask them. Beats pondering and second guessing until we have the devices in our hands.

Not to me they're not. I've tried messaging them via Twitter many times in the 3 years I've been a Kobo customer, each time the responses has been a deafening silence. And I've always been careful to try during Canadian business hours

Perhaps I’m just blessed, I’ve also had Decalgirl respond quickly and actually produce skins for the devices I’ve asked them about, while others have reported less than good results trying for the same.

Dunno if I’ll ask for a skin for the Sage though.

Useful set of answers, thanks for sharing. I've been wondering about the powercase too. I pre-ordered the green cover but really wanted to have been able to preorder the power cover at the same time.

I meant preorder the power cover at the same time as the Sage preorder. Not that I want two covers, ideally.

Reading past comments about the 1200 Sage 1500 battery for Libra, I couldn't find the source of that despite trying to find it so not sure if its confirmed. It does make sense if people wanted the longer battery they would just have to pay more for the power cover

Yes, but if someone ALREADY has an MPP compatible pen (e.g. I have the Bamboo Ink which works on my Elipsa) and they buy the sage, they can save the 40 bucks. Plus there's always the question of pen feel preference (each person has their own, so while the Kobo one might be the "ideal" resistance/texture, some may disagree.)
