Update to firmware V3.0 for older devices - Page 8

So for any NovaPro user. I was told by a representative at the time of receiving 3.0, that it was a Beta. Today, a different representative told me they were pretty sure that was the official release.

I'm a tad confused to be honest. I'm not sure if everyone with a NovaPro has received this update beta or not?

With a little skill, you can navigate the menu and revert to English. I haven't done it in a while to tell you the exact steps, but I know it's possible.

@Satob It seems to start out in Chinese for everyone according to this article.

The download on my Note Pro still stalls every time!

EDIT: Installed, switched to English: Gear>Globe>English. Dictionary is working again, too.

I found that the download requires a good Wifi connection, even a minor disconnection was causing it to fail.

I also watched this video to figure out how to change the language back to English:

Firmware 3.0 for Nova Pro seems like a crippled version compared to other models .. there are no gesture feature and no system wide split-screen (only on neoreader)

The update was briefly available earlier today though I could not download it. It has since been pulled.

There was no beta mention in the name and notes. It was 2020-12-02.

Lots of optimizations but no split-screen.

The 3.0 firmware for the Nova Pro is back online.
I've just downloaded and installed it : 2020-12-02_10-44_3.0.

Not sure if it's the same that was briefly available yesterday.

The only difference I noticed from the beta to this NovaPro update is a bug was fixed. The naval icons were translucent in the beta which made them hard to see. That's been fixed in this update.

I also mentioned to them in notes, the save button doesnt seem to do anything. There is no confirmation or anything when you click it. This I dont think has changed.

I also have a question. The changelog for NovaPro said it would feature a way to keep wifi/audio/bluetooth on when the tablet is asleep.

I can't find such option anywhere. Anyone else?

The update from day before yesterday on the NotePro was tagged 2020-11-26_11-15_3.0_f8d676e. Currently, it still registers as the latest version.
I hope it is a beta, though, since the device defaults to Asian symbols after reboot. Is this one pulled from the servers, too? 'Cause I remember it was really hard to download. And that would explain things.

Well, I am currently looking at the version on offer when when one selects the Asia server option for OTA updates. It's version number is: 2020-11-26_12-03_3.0_f8d676e

In Chinese, it then states that it is the official version of 3.0. As such, I would assume it is the official version for the Chinese domestic market.

As for myself, I think I'll wait until the international version comes out, just in case they find any new bugs now that they have released it to the domestic Chinese market. I imagine it will only be a matter of weeks.

Same on Max 2. I like it that the icons are a bit smaller and not touching the edge, seems more professsional this way. More important of course are the upgraded Note and Reader-apps
