We lived on a RAAF base and there were banks of open-fronted, angle-barrelled washing machines for the airmen to use in an open building next to the common pool. That day I discovered that you cannot reach the control switches for such a washing machine from inside of it while being spun end-over-end, no matter how much you one-armed-hanging-out flail-about-randomly. Well, to be fair, it didn't hurt at all. It just made me really dizzy, and thus gave me a migraine. It was much better than the chase-Marc-across-the-oval-throwing-darts-at-his-feet game.

There's a lot to be said for family...usually to someone who makes you pay $300 to the laddy at the door on the way out.

Cheers,
Marc ( Hmm, laughing at my own jokes. I think I'll go have a lie down. )

I'm guessing Marc learned how to run fast and hide quite well when he was a kid... Though I guess the fact they were able to put him in the washer possibly indicates the opposite...

I hear you on that. I had siblings ... needless to say, I don't keep in touch with many of them. If the military wants to learn all there is to know about torture ... they should take classes from my older sister.

I can imagine I'm trying to think if I've ever seen any films with a character called my name. I must have done, as it's not exactly an uncommon name!

The weirdest name related thing was someone replying to a post I'd made on a mailing list - they started it by explaining they would only reply to people they could find something out about on the internet, and then proceded to give me a run down of what they thought was my academic career and subsequent employment. I never heard from them again after I nicely told them I was someone else entirely

I believe the original version cooked the salmon in the dishwasher with last night's dishes, soap and all. You had to wrap it very well though. I think it was an energy saving idea.

Yeah, you know how it is. They're alright, except for when I look back at them during "downtime", but wearing those blues-coloured glasses t(a)ints everything you look at.

Maybe I was just open-minded to new experience. Did you think of that? No? Neither did I, until just then.

I have a younger sister (she is closest in age to me - only 17 months away - while my brothers are at least 4.5 years older). I once told her that I was going to call my autobiography, My Sister, The Antichrist. She was actually quite pleased with the idea.

Cheers,
Marc

hee ! well now you'll start looking out for it, i'm sure. let me know when you notice it. my name was somewhat uncommon when i was a child, but it's coming back into fashion now. it's really disconcerting to hear someone call you in the street and turn around and realize they were calling some other girl. i think all the girls named sophie and sylvie must be used to it but it's a new experience for me.

that is really weird !! the whole point of a pseudo is to keep your crime-fighting superhero identity safe from the public eye !! what a lunatic !! (and actually somebody hunting down information about me like that would be my nightmare !)
