First post! I've been lurking for a while though and this forum has been super helpful.

I was too impatient to wait for the Note and got the Max 2. It was way too big for me so I returned it. Now I'm waiting for the Note to show up on Amazon. It looks like it won't be until the end of March though.

Any buyer here planning on making a review of the Onyx Boox Note when it arrives?

Would love to hear some thoughts before making the decision myself.

yeah, i would like to know if it is possible to use the anroid version of koreader on this device, because the few video reviews i saw on youtube were using some diferent application for cbz/cbr files.

//also, does this reader have a flush screen? its not very apparent from pictures/videos

Don't you mean the Max 2 and not the Note? I see the Max 2 at that price now. The Note should be going for less than that...

Edit: Still talking to the nice people at Onyx Boox International. Right now I am in the process of confirming I have 4 buyers from the USA interested in the Onyx Boox Note. It takes a while for any communication to happen because of language barriers and time-zone differences. By the time we get everything sorted out I feel like you'll all have gotten yours shipped from Europe!

When I log in to my account, it says something about preparing to ship my order. Has said that for a couple of days now.

I expect that either means that Booxtor is still waiting to receive his shipment and that it is imminent or that he has received it and is slowly getting around to fulfilling the orders.

If he has a lot of orders, it may take a while to package them all and send them off... Seems that my original anticipated timeline of the end of March may not be that far off. Not too worried. Delays often happen with new products.

I don't know, I'm basically interested in detailed examination of all device's drawbacks one can find.

Some time ago I bought second generation 9.7" Onyx because I read a lot of tech stuff. And I was fairly disapponted by the screen quality, physical design (colors, materials), and a number of terrible software bugs that were never fixed (however after rooting I've found solutions to the most terrible ones).

Look, this is frustrating me to no end.

The deal Onyx Boox has with Ereader Store is they provide you with content in the form of reviews, and then they take sale, give it to the Amazon Seller, and charge you more than Amazon just for having a nice website. Just buy your Onyx on Amazon when it comes! It won't be in the e-reader store before it gets there

I will personally send anyone the link to the amazon store when it is available in Canada (and the USA). I am talking to the folks from Onyx International every day. They hate me a little now, but goddamn, I am buying these e-readers on the cheap and so should you!!

Interesting if this should be true. I wonder if this is a new way of doing things.

Last year when I was looking to get my Max, it wasn't available on the Canadian Amazon website. So I ordered from the ereaderstore in Germany. It seemed to enjoy a good reputation. And for a variety of reasons, I was somewhat hesitant about ordering directly from China.

From what I recall, my ereader shipped from Germany via UPS.

As for the Onyx Note which I also ordered through the ereaderstore, the price was about 462 Euros. That's very close to the amount of $550 US which I recall having heard the Note would retail for on Amazon. Plus, it came with free shipping. From what I recall of the Max, it also came with a two year warranty.

Consequently, I don't imagine that there will be a very big price difference between the ereaderstore and Amazon. Guess we will be finding out soon enough. I will also be very interested to see where my Note ships from when it eventually arrives.

I'm really very curious about this reader. It seems really good and the Sidenote feature for the epubs looks great. I can't wait for a detailed review.
