I just read on another site that this new firmware changes the home screen. Does anyone want to post a screen shot of what it looks like now?

I don't believe there are any changes in the home screen over what was in the 4.4.x release. If there are any changes, they aren't obvious.

A wee tick mark appears inside the sync wheel when the sync completes. I don't see any other changes since recent versions, but if someone had upgraded from an earlier version with the old tiled home screen straight to this version, they might think the home screen was new in this version.

(The Kobo server is still sending out a mix of colour and greyscale cover images, I see.)

Nobody really knows how Kobo manages to introduce bugs in such basic functions. I sometimes imagine that the whole firmware is just one tremendously big hotfix now and every new tweak applied randomly affects other parts that seem totally unrelated (to the user and coder).
