Nah! I think it's stagnant and my stay that way.

The drift happens when someone posts asking a question and then the answer gets knocked about for a bit and the OP doesn't return and since the topic is done until the OP comes back, topic drift happens.

As for the Oasis, I think it's dead. There's nothing Amazon could do to make a better Oasis given the rather poor design.

Teach them what lesson, exactly? That there's no room in the market for premium devices? I strongly disagree!

I have a Voyage and was happy to pay a premium price for it. Nobody's forcing anyone to buy a Voyage or an Oasis - you can buy a basic Kindle or a Paperwhite if you want something cheaper. I think it's silly, though, to say that Amazon should be "taught a lesson" for daring to think that there are people willing to pay for high-end devices. There's clearly a market for such products, as the success of the Voyage and the Oasis shows.

By itself it seems highly overpriced. But you have to see it in context with the family of Kindles. It exists to bolster the sales of the Voyage and possibly the Paperwhite. That is usually why high end models exist, to make the previous high end look more attractive. It exploits a fallacy that many people fall into that the mid-end is the sensible, intelligent choice. A few crazies with loads of money to spend will buy the Oasis sure but that's not really why it's there. The Oasis does not exist to be a hot seller. It exists to round out the entire family of Kindles.

I'm not at all sure that's true. For me the Voyage is pretty much the perfect eInk reader, which is why I've had mine for three years - by far the longest I've owned any reader. Many people here feel the same way about the Oasis. The fact that a device is too expensive for one person doesn't mean that everyone feels the same way, and to suggest that Amazon should be "punished" for producing it is frankly ludicrous.

I like the Oasis design, but it offers very little extra functionality. In fact, despite it's extra cost, it actually lacks some functionality the Voyage has (the light sensor).There's a sucker born every minute. That's the business model behind the Oasis pricing strategy. I find that cynical and I am opposed to it.

I don’t have a Voyage, but I found myself reading more on Oasis than on my Kobo A1. I just love the design and it sits in my hand perfectly. I hate onscreen navigation. May be Voyage will also satisfy me, but I am not so sure because on haptic sensor buttons. I only hate magnetic cover connector - so I only put cover when I don’t read.

I have find this new when I go to amazon.com from my iPhone.
It's write "new kindle oasis" with this 2 new options: Kindle Oasis with Adaptive light sensor and
Touchscreen + PagePress.

Price for 3G+Wifi is $359.99

If I try with my computer, the sheet compare show original Oasis....

Maybe it's wrong copy<>paste ???
