I did some testing and it appears that if I do more than ~10 requests in quick succession, Amazon no longer wants to talk to me for a few minutes (more than 5 less than 15).

I usually add 3 books at a time for certain reasons. Then I highlight the batch and do Edit Metadata in Bulk to add my own tags, set the title capitalization, and set author sort. I only edit metadata individually when I need/want it for that book(s). It seems like this is going nowhere (not a criticism), so I'm going to leave it alone for now and see if something changes. Thanks for all the responses, though! |

A difference in methodology. After I got my prior to calibre ebook collection into calibre where I did try bulk editing, I've used the edit metadata individually almost exclusively. After I download the metadata, I tend to edit the comments to clean up egregious formatting, reviews, blurbs, etc. For me, it was simply easy to control which metadata made it into my library rather than going back and correcting errors after the fact. That I use multiple metadata sources makes it easier to get incorrect metadata. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It seems this plugin no longer fetches cover images, possibly because Amazon changed something again. It used to work, but now it doesn’t, and the issue persists even with older versions of Calibre, like 7. No images load anymore.
The plugin appears to be dead unless a fix is found for retrieving cover images. Without it, you might have to manually fetch high-resolution images from the website for each ebook, assuming the covers are still available there. Otherwise, finding a solution might involve a website specifically for searching Kindle ebook covers, like a Google for ebooks, but that’s just speculation. This plugin was last updated in 2024-02, correct? Or was there a newer version than v0.5.1 for Kindle hi-res covers? Last edited by KindleAZWorKFX; 05-28-2025 at 08:18 PM. Reason: corrected a error, date of 2024 not 2014, a error in last version in post |

This plug-in used to use the technique published at https://www.ereader-palace.com/get-h...kindle-ebooks/ but as of 2024-02 the URLs no longer work, and new working URLs were determined via experimentation.
that page no longer loads the correct title , above link is not what it should be. seems to be redirected to https://bbqinprogress.com/ page. I recommend that people send that link to edge's report unsafe site, as its not what it should be, possible the host went down, and a fishy site took over the link and hijacked it. https://github.com/lbschenkel/calibr...n-hires-covers |

I did ask copilot about this, today, it gave me these links if that helps for anyone else, since that link is no longer active and about ebooks.

https://www.ncsc.gov.uk/section/abou...t-scam-website https://safebrowsing.google.com/safe...eport_general/ those are the pages links that copilot gave me, as again that link is no longer valid. and seems to be redirected to a website, I never heard of, and doesn't seem to be about ebooks at all. Quote:
it gave me one more link when I told copilot I am not in the Uk, so that redirect is showing up in a US web browser not a UK sourced one, in any case, I live in the US, but that link for the UK might be good for a Uk user, so I share that link anyway Last edited by KindleAZWorKFX; 05-28-2025 at 08:37 PM. Reason: if this is helpful, US or Uk Users to report dead websites, or hijacked old pages maybe, why I am sharing it, if its helpful. |

P.S.: I can see that your messages have been mostly written by AI. Note that I'm here to support other humans. Next time please write yourself, as there's a lot of nonsense and hallucination in the contents which make them unnecessary alarmist. They're basically pure noise and just bring confusion. Blatant use of AI in this thread will result in the poster entering my ignore list. Last edited by lbschenkel; 05-30-2025 at 01:28 AM. |

I shall amend the posting guidelines to make it clear that quoting AIs, or having AIs generate your content is not generally acceptable.
But I don't think KindleAZWorKFX intended to post bad information, they seem to just be a bit naive about the usefulness of AI responses. |
