You're welcome!
I've since received the official Kobo sleep cover, honestly, the differences are minimal. The Kobo cover feels nicer to my hand, and it does fold back and magnetically stick to the back of the device, but I could do without the crease for the folding stand aspect, which I never plan to use. Anyway, for anyone deciding between the official cover and the much cheaper Pasonomi cover, if price is a factor, go Pasonomi. Otherwise, the Kobo cover is nice, the edge are a bit more rounded and comfortable feeling. I'll probably keep the device long enough to enjoy the official cover for years, so given the many hours I spend reading, it's worth it to me. Sent from my Pixel C using Tapatalk |

Probably already been posted somewhere so my apologies if it had. Listed as out of stock at WH Smith UK but had registered for email alerts when back in stock. Now got the email and ordered one with delivery in one to two weeks and rather excited.
Still shows as out of stock on the website though so thought it might be worth mentioning. As I say, apologies for the post if it's old news |

Contacted Kobo through FB and they said that the new batch should be restocked within the first week of February.

I wonder if it's exactly the same hardware. I hope it is different, for two reasons: - it'll mean the interpretation I put forward in this thread may have been accurate - it'll mean I have a good chance of returning my current Aura One and getting a replacement and being confident that the backlight will work properly without an obvious giant green patch |

Yeah. I would be quite happy if they ditched the whole variable color temperature thing, and just put in a fixed warm white lighting setup.

I don't mind it. But it is far from even. My main problem is the gradient in the normal light. The top of the screen is usually darker/ yellower/ browner than the bottom. Just like the Voyage and that is just driving me mad.

Ok. It looks like it came back on stock and went right out. And read in another thread that the gradient is still there. So, nothing has changed. At this point, I'd advice anyone who wants to buy to wait a few more months. Maybe an year until they fix everything and can hold reasonable amount of stock.

I don't have a bath. I have a shower. I prefer to have my shower and then I can read after. We don't even have a bathtub. We have a very nice shower. Besides, I prefer not to sit in dirty water when trying to get clean. Also, a bath wastes a lot of water because after the bath, you need a shower to wash your hair and wash off the dirty water.

There is "limited quantity" of the KA1 again in the UK Kobo Store.
I have this image of a Kobo staffer bringing over a suitcase full of KA1s, and that's their stock for the month. |

Is there any way to find out when a hardware revision might hit the market or whether one is planned at all? Tempted to buy if some of the early kinks were to be ironed out.
