Oh and I think they said something about a 13 inch device.
Their ultimate Reader was far from ultimate. It was very sub-par and thus, their drive to fund it was a huge flop.

It was a 6" device with specs that made one yawn. Then when that flopped, they went for a 13.3" device that still has not seen the light of day.

Exactly,I've been burned by that cursed site more than once before, NEVER am I going to get hyped from 'industry sources' good ereader articles again!

They also said eink regal 2 was going to be shown off at display week 2016 and we never got any new display tech from them at that trade show but they talk as if they know but all they do is create guessing-click bait material.

I will literally ROTFL if after the massive speculation and disappointment of the kindle oasis having a liquavista screen they came out with such a device a few months later.

Seeing as how much Amazon are charging for the oasis I fear to imagine how much that liquavista reader will be,$500 would not be surprising.

I think the odds are in favour of this being a real future Kobo, but we will only know for sure in October.

I think Kobo would only file FCC paperwork if they were serious.

Kobo usually announce products in April for a May release or September for an October release. And with the timing of the paperwork, the September/October period makes sense.

The FCC had a confidentiality request that asked for photos and details of both devices to be withheld until October 20, 2016.

The H2O was released a month before their confidentiality request to the FCC expired, so we might see something at the end of September/early October.

The wait will most likely be over in a couple of weeks (/speculation), seeing as Kobo's CEO Michael Tamblyn tweeted this today:

“Great news for booklovers coming soon from @kobo. Keep your eyes wide open mid-August!”

https://twitter.com/mtamblyn/status/758404133716103168

You can see a small part of the back of a mystery device on the pic accompanying the tweet, which leads me to think this mid-August announcement will be of the device or devices we saw on the FCC documents.

I only own an Aura H2O myself--does this mystery device with the blue button on the back resemble any Kobo reader released before? The textured part below the button seems kind of similar to what I've seen of the back of the Glo HD, but not exactly.
