Fingerprints on the bezel are a pain for me too. Funnily enough, they're not particularly visible on the screen, but they fairly scream on the bezel.

I'm still very happy with my Voyage.. I do notice that the backlights are kind of too blue for my taste, they seem pretty even but I'd rather they were a more yellow tint to match indoor lighting better.
The other nitpick I have is I do sometimes find it difficult to find the ideal place to keep my fingers without triggering the buttons. I just kind of think it could be a little better to hold. It's possible I'd like the Oasis although I'm not really considering one anytime soon. (Just got an iPad, and I have a Fire HDX and a 2nd gen Paperwhite too.. too many devices!) I really, really love the Origami case. I use it constantly as a stand. I would miss it a lot if I got an Oasis. I miss it right now cause I'm reading a paper book currently. Voyage + Origami case is an awesome combination while eating lunch.. even if my hands are dirty I can turn pages with a knuckle or something on the touch screen. |

Just bought one on sale, and despite previously being a fan of page turn buttons, I really don't like the page turn sensors on the Voyage, am I allowed to say that?

But, I do still love my Voyage, and can't quite convince myself to spend that much money, since I do. |

Yep I'm envious, but nothing could convince me to spend that much so it's not a problem.
Just thinking though..... Q. Apart from the screen, what are the two most important features of an ereader for you? A. Erm, buttons and dots. ![]() |

![]() I have to say that I'm perfectly happy with the page turn sensors on my newly-acquired Voyage. I know it's not the same as the 'proper' buttons of the K3 but they work fine for me ![]() |

I got mine last night and promptly spent all evening reading instead of cleaning/cooking/any of the other things I intended to do. I'd be sorry, but I'm really not.
This thing is fantastic. I'd only ever had touchscreen readers before and didn't think I'd use the sensors but I love them! They're situated perfectly for my short and stubby thumbs. I thought I'd get thumb cramp from holding it that way (I have an annoying joint condition) but it's actually much, much better than the Paperwhite was for not causing that. I read for hours in a row without becoming uncomfortable, and it was much easier to change hands than before. The screen is lovely and clear, and seems warmer toned than my PW2 when you compare them at the same brightness. It looks even to me, so no worries on that score. The text definitely "pops" more and there's less of a fuzzy grayness to it which I'd begun to notice a little in the PW2. There's not a massive difference between the two, otherwise, apart from that I'd updated my PW to 5.7.4 and the Voyage came with 5.6.5 and I think I prefer that a bit. I'll probably update it in a while but I'll keep my WiFi off until then. Otherwise, absolutely no complaints - I'm glad I took the plunge, though I'm also glad I paid the sale price as it made it even sweeter ![]() |

Yep, the screen is definitely that bit clearer. As others have previously mentioned a combination of the glass and flush screen makes a difference, more like the text is printed on the screen rather than underneath it. I agree the light is a warmer tone than the PW2, and is good even with the light set very low. As I expected, I can see a hint of a slight gradient towards the top of the screen in some lighting conditions, but its pretty minimal. I turned the page turn sensors back on and am getting more used to using them, so it's all looking pretty good so far.
I will, of course, greedily lap up all the reviews and thoughts people post when their new Oasis arrives. |

That's the illusion I always used to get with non-illuminated Kindles - that the text was actually on the surface of the device rather than under it - but it went away with the PW; the light diffuser made the text go below the screen surface once again. As you say, though, the appearance of "surface" text is back with the Voyage.

Oh, definitely! I don't have the money to shell out for it and I don't *think* it would work for me but I'm definitely intrigued to see what others have to say about it! And, I mean, I did say that about the Voyage, so you never know.
