Ok--I just checked again with an epub that was just added to my HD, and you're right--I apologize, and stand corrected. The other ones that I looked at were previously finished and then re-opened.

She found out after the CD was issued that the free copies were cutting into her sales, because Memory was left off the CD and selling far better than the other ebooks in the series (for what it's worth, Memory may be the best book in the series). This supports the common observation that bestselling authors lose sales to giveaways, while giveaways increase sales to midlist authors. Bujold is bestseller by now.
